Which system should I get BF3 for, PS3 or 360?

Trading in a game to Amazon and want to get BF3 with the credit. Since my only computer is a useless little netbook clogged full of old porn and viruses and I don't have a spare $500-800 lying around too build a good computer which means I'm going to have to settle for one of the console versions. I'm just torn between which version I should get it for.

360 Pros:
-Already have a headset
-One or two friends have the game and play it semi-regularly
-Usually has more players than on the PS3
-Multiplatform games usually perform better on 360

360 Cons:
-Installing the game and the HD pack will eat into my storage space
-Already have MW3/Black Ops on my 360 (Don't know why I see that as a con, I just do)
-Didn't play the PS3 beta but the 360 beta looked and performed like ass
-Again, aforementioned friends play it SEMI-regularly, usually they're playing GoW

PS3 Pros:
-Well I don't have to pay for the online
-Only comes on one disc
-Read that it performs better on PS3
-I like the PS3 game cases more (Don't ask)

PS3 Cons:
-Despite what I've read about it performing better, personal experience has taught me that multiplatform games usually perform worse on PS3
-PS3 seems to always have less players
-No mic (Although I rarely run into people who talk on other games anyway)
-No friends play it (Although I only have two PSN friends, one only plays MGO and the other only plays JRPG's so maybe I could always just get some more friends)

See? Torn right down the middle. What's really the deciding factor for me when it comes to picking which console to get a multiplatform game on is which PERFORMS better. The one that has the best consistent framerate and the least amount of bugs and late textures and stuff usually gets my pick, but the problem is that a lot of those Vs. articles are unreliable and sometimes (Well, always) biased. I go to one and it says the PS3 is better and then maybe watch a video on youtube that shows the 360 version performing better.

I guess the PC isn't an option? Anyway, you should probably pick the one that your friends play, especially if you have no significant reason to choose otherwise.

Oh, well here's a little something for you to take out of the pro's on the PS3. (Kind of)

The two discs that the 360 version comes on come with one disc containing the multiplayer section and one disc containing the single player campaign. If you can manage to get through the single player campaign, which in my opinion was really really bad, you'll only be using one disc for the online multiplayer anyway. :D

Unless for some crazy reason you plan on playing through the single-player campaign a lot...o-o"

Edit: P.S If you do get the 360 version let me know and maybe we can play together sometime. :p I have no friends who play BF3 T^T (Well one, but they haven't been playing very much).

I never understood this, I play MW3 and it has a little map in the corner showing who is playing at that time and usually the east cost is light up like an xmas tree and then it kind of fades to the west.

It's also not like you are struggling for a game, I played quite a bit during the beta and I never noticed the same name twice. It's not like I looked out for names or even remembered them.

PSN isn't like when the first two phones were invented and it was just them two on the line, there are a couple of million people.

You aren't going to struggle to get a game with a full lobby or even play the same people constantly, I have just been playing section 8 and even though the game isn't that popular it still had decent sized servers going.

This is probably true but I swear in online games I've played on both consoles it always seems like it takes a lot longer to find full lobbies on the PS3 then the 360 and some games seem to be dead on the PS3 while they still have an active community on the 360. Maybe coding a good matchmaking system for the PS3 is just a lot more difficult.

@AwkwardTurtle: Thanks for clearing things up. I was under the impression hat the whole game was on one disc and the second was the HD pack or something. Still, having to swap discs to go between the singleplayer and the multiplayer is lame, even if the singleplayer sucks and I'll only play it once.

Now I'm reading on some sites that the 360 version performs better. See, I can forgive a game for having less-than-stellar graphics so long as it has a good frame-rate and doesn't dip down to single-digits when things get hairy. This is the problem I had with the console versions of Crysis 2, they tried to have great graphics AND a good, steady framerate, which is mostly undo-able on the consoles, so most of the game the framerate is in the mid to lower 20's, which is kind of distracting.

Anyway, I was leaning towards getting the game for the PS3 when I wrote this, but now I'm leaning more towards the 360 version.

I guess one of the reasons for that is the 360 is more popular in the US than the PS3. The PS3 sells more in Europe and Japan (I think).

OT: Based on what you said I'd get the PS3 version. For a game like BF3 you want it to perform as well as it can and (to me anyway) the PS3 seems like the best option.

Some people have had bad controller lag with the PS3 version that seems to occur with certain types of HDTVs. I had to make tweaks to my TV or it would have been unplayable.
