Im trying to get a base-line reading of what would be too high of a temp for a PC. Mostly im looking for is what is the worst possible temp you can get where damage to your PC begins. I regulurally dust inside and out of my PC and videocard. I have programs that read temps for me, but Im unsure if my PC is running too hot. After playing Shogun 2 my video card was at 85 Celeius and my CPU was like 65 Celeius. Are these temps too high?

85 Celsius is perfectly safe for a video card, it's only when you reach the 90's that it gets dangerous.

65 is about as high as a CPU can go without shutting down, I'd look at trying to keep it below 60 just to be safe. An after market cooler could help if you don't already have one and also are cpu or video card overclocked?

My macbook pro got to around 80 Celsius.
My friends older model gets a bit higher. While these temperatures are in no way desirable. I'm certain 65 is not as bad as the guy above me was going on about.

Google your CPU and GPU name, then you'll be able to find out where the manufacturer put the temperature limit; it ranges from anything between 70 to 110 for graphics cards and usually below 90 for CPUs.
There's no definitive answer unless you give us the name of the card/CPU.

QFT.

An example is Fermi cards vs everything.

Ha, yeah. :?

For example, 60C is bad for my CPU (AMD Phenom 965 Quad Core) and anything over 100 is bad for my EVGA Geforce 470. But below that? It's fine. :)
Yeah I actually had my cards run in 105'c for 5 mins before I realized that it had turned off my fan profile.
