I'm stuck between choosing either a DSi or PS3 Slim for Christmas and I don't know which ones to get.
I figure I should get the PS3 now, because the games I want for the PS3 probably aren't going to be there next year, while the games for the DS are. On the other hand, the games for the DS are less expensive and I could play them anywhere. Which one would you choose?

I was expecting an "Xbox or playstation" choice, but PS3 or DS? That's a new one.
Well it all depends on what you want really. Want decent online play? PS3. Want lots of unique games? DS.

The PS3 has a supporting library. The DSi just has the normal DS library. If you don't already own a regular DS/DS Lite then I would suggest that, as it still has compatibility to the GBA cartridges.

I may be a bit old in my ways, but I find the larger library to be worth it. Likely why I got one of the first gen PS3s.

I already chose which games to get for both systems.
PS3: InFamous, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, and Prince of Persia
DSi: Yoshi's Island DS, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
(PS3 list more expensive, but better; DSi list not as good, but more inexpensive)

PS3 fat, if you get retro for some PS2 games

Or DSi if you want a console with a crappy camera.
(Seriously, get a normal DS, that one even got GBA support)
I don't think they make the 60GB PS3 anymore.
And as for the DSi, I wouldn't want to have to by another system just so I could get DSi specific games because I chose to get a DS Lite.

EDIT: Also keep in mind the availability of the game after one year.

I say PS3, unless you reallllllly like a DS with a camera built in. In which case, get the DSi

Get the PS3. Even better save your money and get a 2nd hand one. Trade-in shops are the best highstreet invention since Greggs.

(Greggs is a very popular bakery chain in the UK btw)

PS3. Bigger library and Blu Ray player.
I'm not going to buy any Blu-Ray discs and I'm probably not going to attempt to play enough games on the DS that I'll run out.
