I know this topic's been done before but I want to ask The Escapist admins (and by consequence Sir Croshaw himself) this.

WhistleBlowerZero [http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/zero%2Boriginality/video/x6wnow_zero-originality-episode-1_videogames] is that guy who sto-*cough* "borrowed" Yahtzee's style to flame GameStop California for how bullshitty and illegal their practices are. Eventually his YouTube account was suspended and someone else uploaded his videos to DailyMotion.

I want to ask this - Did anyone here file DMCA's against him? Or was it someone else?

I actually liked that guy.

It was clearly an homage, not a ripoff.

He gives clear credit in episode 2.

I watched that and didn't like it, I couldn't understand half the things he was saying when he mumbled, good effort though

I loved WhistleBlower's homage to ZP. It wasn't really a ripoff because he was clearly crediting Yahtzee with all the art. Also, there were a fair number of really excellent visual gags (in ZP style, but not actually plagarizing existing ZP jokes) in his videos.

It's probably a sign of how little I value my time, but I ran all the videos multiple times. Mostly as background noise whenever I was doing something boring or tedious, like level grinding in an RPG.

Argh.

Here's a hint to all the "homages" to Zero Punctuation. Make sure you can actually speak. That guy sounds like he has a bad cold and has just drunk a carton of milk. I'll stick to Yahtzee who I can understand and actually has some sense of comedic timing.

I believe it was the work of the Anti-Lulz Task Force.

I support this loser 100%. It was such a shitty place to work.

We had originally stated a claim, but then retracted it after further review. Gamestop likely pulled them then, I imagine their employee contracts holds some version of a Non-disclosure Agreement that they could use as justification to bring them down. He also uses music which is not public domain.

DMCA is always a tricky issue, but unless you are directly using or re-posting our content it's usually something we won't have a problem with.

Thank you. That's the answer I was looking for.
