Alex Mercer, That guy from Limbo (actually, everyone in Limbo), The kid (bastion), Isaac from TBoI. In fact, every game i have played recently doesn't have a protagonist with brown hair AND white skin.

I win your bet, sir.
Alex Mercer is white with brown hair.

PS: Try to stick to real hair colours. Characters with pink or blue hair, for example, do not count.
Alright,

Mass Effect series - Redhead Femshep
My Saints Row character was black
Skyrim - Blond Nord or Black female darkelf
[Prototype2]
If Lightning was the actual hero of FF13, then her.
Okami - a white wolf
Metroid - Samus is blond and female
Zelda - link is blond
The Darkness - Black hair.
Darksiders - White
Tales of Vesperia - Black

Just to name a few.

We shouldn't judge people solely by their skin (and hair) colour and claim a lack of diversity.

*thumbs up*

EDIT: You spell "color" with a "u"...you're one of THOSE people...

Too many to count, lol.
Link is blonde, Samus is blonde, Ike and everyone else in Fire Emblem has non-brown hair (or they are a boring character that dies quickly), Ryu has black hair, Donkey Kong has brown hair but he's an ape, and the player in Pokemon has black hair or blonde hair I believe.

I think the reason that you think white skinned brown haired men are the dominant characters in games, is because white people have a dominating presence in the world, and brown hair is arguably the most common hair colour in the world.

The term "white," to me, is uniquely American. It does not apply to Europeans who see themselves through the lens of culture. It applies only to American mongrels who have nearly no culture at all.
Wow... I'm white British... It definitely is NOT just an american thing... Skin colour is universal! White Europeans see ourselves as White too... in fact remember the Nazis!? They thought themselves White...!

OT: Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Gex, Croc, Rayman, Ty, Kingsley... In fact pretty much any 3D platformer...

Also FF series: Cloud, Zidane, Tidus and Lightning are all against that trait!

Alex Mercer is white with brown hair.
False. He has a hoodie, not hair. :p

Though really I dont recall a single scene where he has his hoodie down, so his hair could be any color really.
I'm sure that if you look closely her has brown hair. I've seen he has brown hair in concept art. But I don't think Alex Mercer really counts because... Well the character you play as is a sentient virus and not really a man.

Imagine that eh, people with white skin consider themselves white? He is just a silly kid trying to sound self important.
Ah, that would make more sense... I couldn't tell if it was an attempted Troll or a Waah or something! I like your analysis on it though, and I will concur with that assessment!

To actually address the OP, since the entire first page is getting onto "who is more or less racist" fights...

Prototype 2 has an African-American main character.

Here is a brown dude with white hair.

Hell, look at this picture

At least 1/4 of those characters have black hair. Trust me, the variety of hair colors in protagonists is perfectly fine.

BioShock (we technically don't see Jack, so I choose to believe that he has red hair)
Eh! There are pictures of him. Black and white pictures, but from the looks of it he has brown hair (and is wearing a sweater through all of bioshock. The balls he has, getting wool wet).

So are we to take this as an admission of trolling?
Mocking you equals trolling you? Really, kompis?

(Though you do get props for actually using the quote function this time. Oh wait, you didn't. Typical.)

No no no no no no.

Don't do this.

If you want to talk about this stuff, go and make your own thread about it. Don't hijack someone else's thread.
You've done this in a few threads now, and it's really getting annoying.
Agreed. Though I doubt he will get that much attention if he does. Plenty of folk are just ignoring him.

CAPTCHA: goosebumps

Now that is just not related to this topic...right?

I hope you can see the massive hypocrisy of that statement.
There's nothing hypocritical about it. Ironic perhaps, but not hypocritical.
I'd say generalizing an entire nationality while claiming a people to be racist is rather hypocritical. But hey, that's just the definition of hypocrisy. Who cares about that >_>

'how many games have you played with a non-white and/or non-brown haired human protagonist?'

He's human, he has brown hair, he's white; he definately falls into the stereotype :(

Also, Mass Effects 1&2 have covers with a brunette white guy so despite the third having the option for a femShep cover I'm afraid Mass Effect is still in the category.

However, disregarding Japanese games entirely because pretty much all of them have awesome hair and this thread should be specified as being about Western games;

Jade Empire's characters are all Chinese and hence have black hair except one who's British

Dungeon Siege's covers all have a redheaded female on the front, and the accursed third game portrays the hero of Eb or whatever they called her as female.

...

Aaand those are my only two Western games where the main protagonist/presumed protaganist (the cover art hero) is not a brown haired white guy. That's pretty damn depressing.

Hmm.

In how many Asian games is the male protagonist not black-haired?

I would like to say 'well played sir, well played' but 'Asian' games would include all JRPGs and there's a truckload of wierd and wacky protagonists there, many with non-black hair

Just going by what games I've played lately:

Only two of my eight Guild Wars characters[footnote] I wanted to try out a lot of different classes[/footnote] are white with brown hair, and that's because I am white with brown hair myself, and wanted to see how much I could make my character look like me. (The answer is: not much...)

Guybrush Threepwood is blonde.

Cthulhu is best described (by H.P. Lovecraft) as looking like "...an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature.... A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque scaly body with rudimentary wings."[footnote] I whole-heartedly recommend Cthulhu Saves the World[/footnote]
