. . . So, is it any good? I'm considering getting it, but I'm a little on edge about it. It looks interesting enough, but critical reception has been lukewarm at best. If anyone who's played the game could give me advice on whether or not to purchase it, you may be rewarded with a sparkling pony that magically conjures cupcakes and tea . . . and my thanks, of course. (Also, was the first White Knight Chronicles any good? I don't know if there's any continuity between the first and the second one, and it's dirt-cheap now anyway)

To give this thread some additional discussion value, you can also post some games you're on edge about buying, and other people on this thread who've played them can give you some advice.

WKC1 comes with WKC2. So if you buy WKC2 you get WKC1 on the disc enchanced with the improvements of the sequel.

I will say, it is a niche RPG, the story follows many JRPG cliches, but it's not the worst thing in the world. I enjoyed it for it was.

The combat is fun, it's not fast, but it has a bit of stragetic elements to it. It is similar to FF12 battle system.

Online is fun, and there is a decent size dedicated community, leveling up in Online (raising your GR rank to get more missions) can be a bit of a grind, but the 2nd game has side-quests that give you exp to level up your GR up to 16.

IT is fun, but it's not for everyone.
