Just saw this online, some amusement was had. I guess they really do listen to the voters... ;)

The question is, have they just miserably embarrassed themselves using a hideously out-dated meme that few of their followers are going to get, and even fewer appreciate? Kinda feels to me like if my parents suddenly went on about yo-yos being groovy or something - a bit behind the times, if you know what I mean ;)

From this point forward I expect all legal doctrine to believed via worn out internet memes, failure to do so shall be met with force. And disappointment.

Damn I was hoping you were talking about how Whitehouse, the seminal English Power Electronics group, had announced on Twitter that they had started flirting with SAW-style Hi-NRG dance music. Turns out it's that other White House. Oh well.

I never knew the Whitehouse had humour.
My immediate response after viewing your profile was "you're a foreigner! What the hell do you know about my country", when about 5 seconds later I also realized that you were right!

They did it wrong, though. They weren't really tricking anyone into watching it since they just seemed to give the impression that they found the video humorous and fun. The tweet should have been, "Obama announces solution to debt crisis. White House Press Conference: http://t.co/ca31My7."

Ah, don't worry about it. In truth, very little. My assertion about humour came from the rather universal fact that the Whitehouse is a government institution, and like most (if not all) others, lack any form of humour or "in-touchness" with the public. :)
