I'd pick Axton but a friend will be playing him.
If the Mechromancer is good, definitely her. She sounds awesome.

If not... Zero or Salvador. I don't really like sniping so I'd just use the ridiculously overpowered sneaky sneaky bloodrape trees for Zero. A
And I like using handguns the most so Salvador with raep everyone with dual pistols.

Im going with Gaige, the others are just too similar to the original characters and a little girl will be a funny contrast to my old main Brick.

I enjoyed Lilith the most from the original but Maya requires to much investment just to do what Lilith did right off the bat. So I'll probably go with Zer0, I like the idea of backstabbing enemy after enemy and chaining invisibilities.

I'm liking the build for maya, she looks to be the best all around player for single player and being a big helping hand in co-op. I'm down to her or zer0 bit I think maya will win out in the end

Im going to be using Maya for my first run(healing + setting people on fire=fun),and Salvador for my second run(come at me bro, nuff said)

But when Gaige comes out,i will pick her up

The thing i dont like about Axton and Zero,is that when you hit max level,Zeros melee damage wont scale to your guns,so if you find a really awesome gun,you will have the same plain old melee, same for Axtons turret, altough they both look fun to play, and i will play everyone eventually.

Most likely Axton, although I checked the skill tree and I am not a fan of what they did to the soldier's skills.
May I ask whats wrong with Axton Skill tree?

As a main of the Soldier class in Borderlands 1, I have leveled up Roland all the way to 69, so of course I did experiment with his tree. And now I that I just saw Axton´s tree, I belive it seems to be at least twice the better than it was before!

Its just curiosity, perpars theres something I have missed as well.

EDIT: The ONE thing that may be wrong is the fact that "Cauterize" (Shoot other people to heal them skill), now belongs to Maya the Siren. I guess this might be it? Personally, I never understood whats all the fuzz with this skill, pretty useless IMO. But thats just me (Plus, when I was level 69 I was playing alone... pretty hardcore to make use of that ability with no other people, LOL. Except maybe on the Scorpio turret, but I have never thougt of it)-

I am just not a fan of the way they separated the tree into three quite separate options. I loved Roland because he was self-sufficient; his turret, besides providing some support fire, worked as a movable cover and its health and ammo regen capabilities allowed me to go solo most of the times.

Now it seems like the soldier can either provide fire support, defensive support or regenerative support, but only one of those things (unless I spread among lower level skills). I understand that its intentional to force me to team up with other characters online, but I think I will miss the self-sufficient side of the class.

Haven't bothered to really look shit up about B2.

But I saw the live action trailer and noticed some crazy Gray-Fox ninja character.

So I'll go with him, I guess.

Maya because I found out that her character mod looks like an enchantment book.

That and her action skill has some great advantages when playing with friends.

I initially was hoping I could play Zero as a straight melee build without all that stealth malarkey.
Upon looking at his trees, that seems unlikely.
I have no interest in Salvador, as I am not a fan of dual wielding automatic weapons, unlike his predecessor who I greatly enjoyed as the melee character.
I would have played Maya, but my girlfriend called dibs.
That leaves me with Axton until the Mechromancer comes out.

Mobile cover? The shield as about as high as his knee - Crouching barely did anything behind it. Although I agree with the whole "One Man Army" approach to Roland you had. Seems like you want a Salvador build though, the Brawn tree and "5 shots or 6" will cover your health and bullet regen

Probably Axton or Salvador then after my first chosen Character playthrough then go with i didn't choose then probably by that time play Mechromancer or Maya, not playing zero till he/she is nerfed because zero's skill tree is disgustingly op at the moment.

Um. Yeah, after reading your post and thinking about it for a moment, I think I can kind of see what you are saying.

While Roland obviously had some skills oriented towards buffing/helping the whole group, he also had quite a few usefull abilities for himself, such as those that gave him 5% health regeneration whenever he scored a kill, and also the that created grenades for every kill (it was limited in some kind of way, I think it was something like 1 grenade per minute of active skill... something like that. My point still gets across anyway) Yeah I think those are just some (I cant really forget the abilities that I used to finally defeat Crawmerax solo with the soldier. Oh, man that was a godlike moment...) ANYWAYS...

Yeah, viewing it from that point he seems to be lacking that...

But really, think about the incredible buffs the Scorpio turret has gotten. Now it can be (potentially according to how you distribute your skill points of course) attached at ceilings and walls, get rockets (was already in BL1 but this time it seems even better), teleported like one of those teleport grenades from BL1, and even get TWO turrets at once, Oh yeah, and it can also be retrieved whenever you want, meaning, if theres no enemies in the area, you can take your turret with you again and the cooldown will be less!

And thats just some. I think its a fair trade. AFter all, they SAID the Scorpio turret was going to be more of a protagonist in the battlefield this time around. And you can still go around shooting enemies while the turret/s do that as well somewhere else :D.

As a final note, dont forget external buffs for each class (Class mods. They might fix the little problem). Either way, we dont haev any way to know until we finally play the freaking game :)

Been done at least two other times. ;)
Anyways, I'll probably go with Zer0. I loved Mordecai, while the other characters didn't intrest me much. They seem more fun this time around, but I just love my sniper so much.

I am going with Zero right off the bat, usually my first choice is the worst, but I am dying to see how the sword works out with his unique ability
