I should note that I grew up in a messed up and impoverished family. I would like to correct the mistakes I observed during my childhood, and get to enjoy life at one point rather than just enduring it while dabbling in escaping from reality in various ways.

If you live for yourself, then consider this: You either work, or are at school. So a large amount of your time is for other people, i.e. schooltime, or working.

So if you truly live for yourself, are you allowing yourself to go your own way? Or are you tied down by standards and requirements in our society?
