Joker is an obvious one for being evil incarnate while still leaving you with a smile. I think the book, "Last Laugh" (I think that's the one) shows just how dark he can really get.

As much as I hate bringing up Bleach, you should see what this "Aizen" guy did.

Seemingly invincible. Does what he wants because if you see his sword release you are hypnotized. Keeps someone who wants to kill him with him at ALL times. Will kill YOU just cuz.

Im going to say Horus from Warhammer 40k just due to the sheer scale of his evilness. He almost killed his dad, killed his brother, and o yeah set the ball rolling for the extermination of trillions upon trillions of people in the galaxy.

Dr. Herman Bonner from the book fire. Dude created The Beast from revelations just so he could kill it, tricked another scientist into creating a bacteria that would keep bringing people back to life, planned on destroying the entire planet, strangled his mom right after he was born, and tortured a guy to death multiple times just because he didn't believe he was right in destroying the world.

This guy, he is like a cross between Lelouche (sic) and Light, but he manages to do everything without supernatural powers. He will convince you to kill yourself, or kill others, he knows everything about you: what makes you happy, what makes you sad, but best of all: how to scare the living shit out of you. Hell, he kills everyone one man contacts just because he asked Johan how he felt, his response: "you'll find out soon enough". Loneliness, to prove that point he killed everyone that man came into contact with.
If I may ask, what's the series called?
Monster, forgot the mangaka's name but nothing a quick google won't fix. Excellent series, but read the manga rather than the anime, the anime has a lot of pacing problems.

I have no idea who this is...but I think he wins the thread...

But if I wanted to add one, I would add Garret Dillahunt. Yes, he is an actor. But, two of his characters (Roman Nevikov from NBC's Life and some biker from The Last House on the Left) are some of the most disturbingly sociopathic people I have ever seen.

The guy can pull off evil.

I must not tell lies...it has to be:

Dolores Jane Umbridge. That character was more evil than the main villain of the series.(Harry Potter)

And don't forget her sickeningly petite interrupting coughs.
I actually have to agree with you there, I kept hoping Harry would pull out a gun and shoot her in the face. I guess it wasn't family-friendly enough.
Actually, I never understood why no-body uses guns in the Harry Potter books. Could Voldemort really do anything against a 50.cal sniper rifle? Or a bazooka?

Edit: Also, HK-47 is pretty much pure evil. He just obeys orders and his masters never let him go on a killing rampage. But yeah, he pretty much just enjoys pain and suffering.

Dr. Braun from Fallout 3. Bastard tortures people in differant areas in differant ways which are usually drawn out and agonizing. All because he's bored. He's even thought of calling it all off and letting them all die, but then he learned that only they would be released and he'd have to torture robots for eternity, so he said "fuck it, my fun is more important!" It felt good to take all that cretin's power away and leave him in the hell of his own creation.

The girl was rather stupid tough... she was intructed not to eat anything in that monster house... she procceded in eating everything...
That was the one thing I didn't like about the movie, there wasn't enough of a setup for that scene. It should have been that she was being starved for a week as punishment or something. Then it would make sense for her to be tempted by the food. But the way the scene was done it just looked like ADD got the best of her and she just forgot she was instructed FFS don't eat the creepy monster's food!

Ser Gregor Clegane. Hands down.
As completely chaotic evil as that ruthless mountain of a man is... I find Cersei Lannister to be even worse. Neither have a single redeeming quality in my eyes, but at least Gregor is just a big dumb beast. Cersei is the kind of lawful evil that invents excuses for itself while it causes the deaths of tens of thousands.
Cersei Lannister isn't The Mountain That Rapes.
Indeed, she's the golden hooker who murders... and murders and murders and murders...

Iago from Othello sure was a rather nasty fellow. Did anything he could to ruin the lives of others for purpose of ruining the lives of others.
I thought he did that because of a mistaken belief that Othello slept with his wife.
Initially, that was his reason, though he never had any real reason to think that in the first place. He was looking for some sort of justification for his sadism, first inspired by being passed over for promotion by Cassius. Before long, he just does away with making excuses entirely and wallows in everyone else's misery.

My personal favorites are Light from Death Note, Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter books, and any one of the Knights of the Blackened Denarius from the Dresden Files (particularly Nicodemus). Light for self deluding madness, Umbridge for inexplicable bitchitude and the Knights for being fallen angels. Not the misunderstood kind, either; they are murderous little bastards for no other reason, I shit you not, than to be contrary.

Can I ask why SammiYin got a warning for his post?
To be perfectly honest, I (and I'm willing to believe that I'm not the only one) was thinking the same thing. I know that this might seem like trolling because of the backlash that various gods (but mainly the Christian/Judeo-~Christian one) get on this site but the fact remains that god in the Bible is a fucking evil character.
So can I get an answer?
Low content post.
Oh really?
Then how come this didn't get a warning?

Sure, it's 5 words instead of 1 but still, the content is low as fuck :)

Gilgamesh, cos he's calculated and cruel. Seriously read what his character is actually like and does (he's not as "nice" as the anime makes out)

Basically in order to keep his prana levels stocked up he absorbs the souls of children, also he comforts a little girl when she's lost her sight and is crying only to rip her heart out of her chest a second later. He loves toying with people and believes everyone to be beneath him.

Although he's not the most "evil" in the series he is still my favourite lol
Gilgamesh is a classy villain, but he kind of gets a scapegoat in that he was bathed in the darkness of "all evils of this world". So technically Angra Manyu is the most evil, but he doesn't have a terribly strong presence in the story. On the other hand, when I found out what Shinji and Zouken had been doing to Sakura, I had one of the most intense feelings of revulsion and anger I'd ever experienced. That was pretty damn evil.

I'd still say the Daleks though. Classic, sadistic, arrogant, racist, and they'll always come back because the fans really like Dalek episodes. So we're kind of perpetuating that evil in a way.
