From the beginning...

Back in September 2014, EA got hacked to the result of 40,000 people's account information (emails, passwords, etc). Then on or about January 16 this year, there have been thousands of people reporting that the game; Fifa 2015 has appeared in their game inventory including a $30ish charge to their stored payment info.

I unfortunately was one of the 40k it seems. Wondering if anyone here also got Fifa'd.

And to answer your question, it was just that game, and only that game that people are reporting. Which makes it the most confusing hack I have heard of.

According to EA's returns and cancellations policy, you can cancel that purchase within 7 days after purchasing it if you didn't run it. If you did run it, you have 24 hours starting from when you first ran it.

That sucks that it's happening again.

I did not get FIFA'd now (I don't have 15) but I got hit with the same thing back in...shit....2012? I want to say 2012. Either way, they use your account (Xbox Live in my case) to buy a shit ton of FIFA cards (it's a game mode). Luckily, I'm internet paranoid enough to not have any valuable saved on any of my stuff so they got the $10 that was in there and that's it.

I wonder what the heck causes that though. I have Madden 15 and NHL 15 so it's not EA. I still have a FIFA account from the last one I got (2013) so it's not the FIFA accounts. It doesn't make any sense to me...

The return request is pending. What's funny is, when I talked with EA customer service over the phone, the guy told me that the person had linked their PSN account to my Origin account.

When i first heard about this i checked my origin account and didnt see any additions and breathed a sigh of relief but then i had an "I wonder." moment and checked order history under help and discovered half a dozen failed attempts to purchase fifa 15 on my account.

so changing password, etc and the issue has been solved, make sure you guys change your passwords, activate dual authentication so you get an email warning and for the love of everything holy dont save your credit card details with orgin

I haven't logged into Origin in like, a month. Just checked and I seem to be okay.

My mate got Fifa'd in the way that he bought the game.
He has been one angry blob ever since, esepcially after I ask him how he's doing in Fifa15 xD
He swore it will be the last Fifa he ever bought, as was 14, and 13 and 12.... :p

On Topic:
Don't know anyone who that has happened to.
Strange indeed... Maybe someone wanted to raise the fundings for Fifa16 so it might actually be a good game?

I think I have learned why. The game has something called Fifa cards which are made ingame and are then traded for currency of some sort.

No but I got 'Madden'ed a few years back. (Which was extra galling as I'm English and have absolutely no knowledge or interest in the game Americans laughingly all football)

Microsoft were actually very good about it, they noticed before I did and I got the money back straight away.

More worryingly for someone who is slightly OCD about achievements, when they reset the account I lost about a weeks worth of achievements including those from about half the story line of Final Fantasy XIII which I really didn't want to replay, and left me with 15GS on Madden. Its the sort of thing where I can tell my self it shouldn't matter and I should just pretend its not there...

Around Christmas time 2 years ago, my psn account got hacked and was used to purchase $150 psn cash to my own account. Took me 2 months to get that refunded. .-.

I got FIFA'd as well. The whole thing was indeed weirdly specific. First time I've ever had an account hacked anywhere, and it was some guy or group obsessed with buying as many FIFA copies as possible.

I'll admit that it was fairly easy to get sorted out. EA cancelled the order before I was even aware it'd happened, and the account rep I dealt with was far more human than I expected an EA employee to be and got me unlocked promptly enough.

My tale isn't as as resounding. I filed for a return, it failed, then locked my account. Managed to get it reinstated, and I had to re-file for a refund. Waiting on that to come through now.

Happened to me. My experience with EA support was great though. They refunded everything and I got my money back :)

Nope, all clear on my account. Even if they did get in though, they wouldn't have been able to buy anything anyway.

Now I'm paranoid. I've not booted up Origin in ages, so now I need to update it to see if something's happened...
