Soul Calibur 2 is arguably my favourite fighting game ever, so I'm hoping 5 will be just as good. It might be a tall ask, but weirder things have happened. I also went out on a limb and bought the collectors edition, so yeah I'm excited for it.

EDIT: Just noticed 2000th post. Great.

Story mode and Character creation were a bit of a let down, character creation is purely aesthetic and it fails at that because the items that are supposed to go over other pieces of equipment hover several inches off your character's frame, despite scaling to size when you adjust their proportions. Mechanics are good though and the story, while short and devoid of replay value was pretty fun.

I found SC4 was kind of shit, so I'm not really interested in 5.

Two was probably my favorite in the series.
this is how I feel I find the games tend to be to similar to each other to the point where character controls are generally the same and most of the lineup are repeat's so why should I buy the newest one when I already own it with the last game.

I'll probably get it eventually, once it's very cheap. I'm not exactly excited about it, but Hides His Eyes loves him some Soul Calibur.

I think I need to go to more videogame conventions.
You and me both...damn.

As for SOul Caliber V...I don't care. I have IV at home and thought it was really mediocre. My favorite is still the second (as in, Soul Caliber I) on the Dreamcast, closely followed by Soul Blade at the arcades (or rather, my local Pizza Stop) I may grab it when it's a bargain game but there are other games on my list that are of a higher priority like Soul Caliber 2 on the Gamecube and, the entire Bloody Roar series.

No Talim, not interested. When they come out with the full edition with the DLC characters, of which Talim will probably be one, I might look into it.
No talim? really??

they literally just lost a sale here, that's BS

I had a go on it today. I played as Ezio and it was pretty fun :) I might pick it up when I can afford it. And if I don't like it I'll trade it in and use it to buy SF x Tekken.

I liked the SC games for a while (mainly because it used to be with each new game you could see Taki's nipples and cameltoe all the more clearly...they seem to have taken a wee step back from that in four though). However I doubt I'll be getting SC V. I bought 4 and had fun making my own custom characters and what-not...but then there's the online multiplayer.

"Hello! I'm looking for a good fight! So I'm just going to spam this same move over and over and over and over and over again leaving you with no way to get out unless you've masterd the art of perfectly timing your blocks to knock me back a little bit. Oh, but since I'm playing as Taki, her speed allows me to recover quickly and go right back to doing a quick little jab at your foot, effectively stun-locking you until you're dead."

That being the general tactic, find a character with one easily spammable move and repeat it, really kinda took any taste I had for the series away. You don't so much "fight" people in the online multiplayer as see who can out-cheese the other player the most. I don't mind losing a fight...but I prefer my losses to be in actual FIGHTS, not whose spam is the spammiest contests.

I might be picking this up for the same reason I bought Rumble Roses XX.

For the incredibly hardcore fighting experience and the plot. That rich, well presented and developed plot.

I'm interested in it, but I'm in no rush to buy it.

I'll pick it up sometime next year when it'll set me back 20 bucks at wal-mart.
