Doesn't matter what you throw at him. He will fight and try to kill it. Most of the time he succeed.

Trying to fight Ganondorf when he was a kid. With a WOOD shield and a petty knife.
Then he meets a giant dragon and what does he do? Smash it in the head with his large hammer. Do YOU go into close combat with a dragon in an active volcano? Doubt it.
Plus he ALWAYS gets all the women but he doesn't seems to be the type that goes forward with such things.

Besides who else runs straight into enemy fire, picks up grenades and lets them explode in his hand, and doesn't age throughout the span of like 60 years? Price all the way.

Oh and Captain MacMillan is equally awesome.

Solid Snake is a badass for sure. I only had to watch the cutscenes of Metal Gear Solid/Twin Snakes to realize this. Headbutting Liquid Snake WHILE in the back of a jeep and Liquid is in a jeep beside him. Jumping on top of a missle fired from a helicopter. Rolling away from a stream of gunfire on the ground.
