I'm voting for Spawn, you have to be pretty powerful to escape from hell on more than one occasion.

plus this is the dark horse universe so it's not like he has much competition.

Luckily, the breadth of Superman's powers has toned down over the years and it's just intelligent application of his base half-dozen or so powers. And the point I was making about Greek gods is that Superman did not return to life due to any power. He simply chose to return. Resurrection of characters is not exactly uncommon and not all of them require continuity shattering events. In terms of raw power, Superman is up there, but isn't the best. The Hulk is physically stronger and more indestructible (being actually, properly unkillable). I'm convinced the only reason Superman beat him in Marvel vs. DC was due to popularity and not actual power level. Captain Marvel (aka Shazam) is pretty much Superman without the planet-dying angst meets Earth-patriotism. Hell, the two characters look nearly identical except for the costume and have nearly identical powers. Oh and Captain Marvel is not weak to a stupid green rock. All I'm saying is that Superman is not all-powerful, he's simply "all-popular".

Saying you can't kill Superman because he's Superman is not a power. It's proof of he's enduring nature as a heroic archetype. His unwillingness to give up in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds is what makes him a hero, but it's not a power.

...None of whom are superheroes. Also, they're all very limited by their roles, so while they may be extremely powerful in one area, they're useless in everything else.

OT: Gonna also have to go with Dr. Manhattan. It's tempting to go with Batman, though, as he has (provably effective) contingency plans for taking out pretty much every super-powered being in the DCU. Also, he killed a god and came back from the dead. Yes, when he killed a god he was being written by Grant "I'm fuckin' crazy" Morrison, but that doesn't make it any less canon.

Heh, you all have no idea.

<url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_Henshaw>Hank Henshaw.
Half-Cryptonian Cyborg that can transfer his mind into and control any device he inhabits. And a high-general of the Sinestro Corps.
He may not be a all-destroying god, but he does make that up by being indestructable, even having been completely destroyed on molecular level once.

Batman is the most awesome. Unarguably. But, Dr Manhattan is the most powerful. Doesn't matter that he's supposed to be over powered. That's kinda my point.

I forgot his name... he was a bit of an obscure Hero.. Or villain I can't remember but I do remember he destroyed things just by talking, and he said a few words and almost destroyed earth. I WISH I COULD REMEMBER HIS NAME.. I think he was a mutant
Deadbolt? I remember him from marvel ultimate alliance. Whispered and destroyed a city, I think

The Hulk.
Or Deadpool, since he can break the fourth wall- although others can do this too, I should imagine.

if we are just counting comic bookesque heroes then that guy from heroes who obtains everyones abilities after being near them. if we are counting anyone who is heroic and feels super then I'm going to have to say Goku, if we are counting anything, then that really big ass robot from the end of Gurren laggan, because he threw multi verses at people.

The power of willpower is in itself a power. It even has power in its title "Will Power", I mean can you name one superhero in any comic that beat the man of steel one on one in a real fight? Or better yet can you name a villian that permanently killed the man of steel without continuity.
