Who was the first Doctor you ever saw, and what episode?

If I remember correctly, the first Doctor Who episode I watched was Jon Pertwee (3rd Doctor) in "The Green Death" (Giant maggots! Eww, cool!). It was actually a 1973 episode rebroadcast in 1978, but I was hooked. Thanks to all the station's "catch up" rebroadcasts, I actually got to see the entirety of Tom Baker's run, in order.

I watched the show regularly until I had to move in 1988. Tom Baker was my favorite, followed by Jon Pertwee and Peter Davidson. I wasn't a big fan of Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy, but I was still really surprised and bummed when I found out the show was canceled.

The new series let me introduce my wife to the franchise, and my kids are even starting to show interest now. :)

I don't remember, I was too young and hiding behind the sofa =P

Although I do recall him having a long stripy scarf, bushy red hair. And the episode I remember most is when they're on a space station (I think) and someone opens a closet and out falls what looked like a gigantic plastic ant. That was hilarious.
That is the episode "The Ark in Space" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ark_in_Space) - a very fun episode - early Tom Baker.

My first Doctor was Christopher Eccleston. The first episode with him I saw was also his first episode.

Part Two of The Sontaran Experiment, starring Tom Baker. A very weird one to start with, but just my luck, I guess. This was back when the Sci-Fi Channel, as it was once called, showed Tom Baker episodes (one part at a time no less!) back to back with "Classic Cliffhangers" as part of the "Doctor Who Hour". If you don't remember that it's because it was back in the early 90s. *is old*

Didn't help that for half the episode I was trying to figure out who was who, and discovering that Harry Sullivan wasn't actually the Doctor. (Oops.)

"Are you my mummy?"

A wild two-part episode that was also the introduction to Capt Jack. I couldn't of asked for a better episode to get my hooked.

I'm kind of a newcomer to the series: my first was Smith in "The Eleventh Hour". Since then I've been without access to BBC, so I've been making do with online recaps. Please don't lynch me.

4th doctor for me. As for what episode... I have no clue.. It was on PBS and I was entirely too young to remember or even care. All i cared about is I wanted a k-9 of my own.

My friend would always talk a ton about Doctor Who, but once he left town, I decided to catch up on the new series (thank you, Netflix!). So, Chris Eccleston (still my favorite Doctor) in Rose.

Tom Baker in Destiny of the Daleks. Not the greatest story (it's alright) but definitely the greatest Doctor.

My first Doctor was Christopher Eccleston. Episode number 1 of the 2005 reboot. Although I loved David Tennant. I keep intending to go back and watch some of the older stuff, but the only ones I have access to are the ones on netflix.

I started around the same time as Martha Jones -- unexpectedly landing on the moon with the 10th in "Smith and Jones," immediately followed with "The Shakespeare Code" and "Gridlock." (American without fancy cable, internet is my only option...)

After seeing David Tennant pointedly not talk about Rose, I decided I had to know who she was and backtracked to Eccleston's first appearance.

10 may be my favorite Doctor, but "Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways" will always be my favorite episode.

My friend pestered me into watching it by talking about "the new series" like some kind of masterpiece. So, I decided to watch the premier of the series at the time "Smith and Jones".

So, Mr. Tennant, then.

I'm not old enough to have fond memories of the old series, so like most younger fans I was introduced to the 9th Doctor. I didn't start with "Rose" but rather with "Dalek", which isn't a bad episode when you consider it introduces the Doctor's greatest enemy.

Speaking of which... Salt Lake City better watch itself next year.
