With that aside, and given the recent but highly improbable rumor that Kratos might make it to the PS3 version, I'd like to see a character from the Tales series make an appearance. It is Namco after all, just the art styles don't match, which would make it damn near impossible. Microsofts list of characters for the game are slim, as characters like MC and Fenix just don't fit into a fighting genre
Marcus Fenix FTW! Eat the pointy, spinning end of my Lancer, Voldo!

At least SC4 is still a fighting game not a "volleyball" game like Dead or Alive Extreme then again there is always SC5 (in the mean time I'll still play SC2 with my forward Y Y Y cheap ass Raphael)
Insanely guilty of the same thing, but I usually counter that with a well timed arrow from Link

I feel that fighting games will end up as one huge 3D Mugen-fest in the future.
few things in this world would make me happier, i loved messing with Mugen

And my character choice would be Brock Lesnar

LOL, I pictured that and just couldn't stop laughing, not only is the DoA one "objectifying" enough, but with the current SC models, they wouldn't even need to use their hands to hit the ball - hell, it would probably be less painful for them if they used their supernatural breasts.

The scary thing is it would sell... ALOT.

Agreed. Its also one of the largest occurrences of Sexism in games. Its pointless and its offensive. Why can't there be a flat chested female fighter there?
A song comes to mind. "money money money .... MONEY!"

Cameos are something you have to approach with a bit of an open mind. If you are a true fan of the series, then the addition of some outside characters shouldn't ruin the experience for you (unless they control bad or have a really terrible story) and they help draw in fans from other series and other medias.
Actually I don't have to approach them with an open mind because I think they suck. Just because I'm a fan of the series doesn't mean I have to pretend to like things that suck. I play the game because I enjoy it and think it's one of the smoothest-handling fighters out there, not because I'm a "true fan". However I have followed the series for some time and I think Vader and Yoda stick out like sore thumbs in the SC universe.. Not that story should really matter, since this is a fighting game. But really, it's just tacky. And SC doesn't need more tackiness, since Ivy is running around with Z size breasts wearing clothing barely sufficient to cover a baseball. (Rob Liefeld apparently designs all the costumes.. either that or I suspect the artists have never seen a real woman before)

Also is it just me or do the characters all look like crackwhores? They have dark circles under their eyes and look like they're hunting for their next fix.

EDIT: I just realized that I'm hijacking this thread so, to make this not go to waste, look up the escapist article "A wink is as good as a pixelated nipple"

More like porn stars fighting each other for movie roles so they can get their next money shot.

They should have a middle ground though! The reason women don't play games is because they hate being objectified. Take out the sexism but keep making the characters "sexy" and you'll get money from both genders!
The reason most women don't play games is because they think they're uncool, boring, or lame. I can get past scantily clad/disproportioned women easily. I get a good laugh out of it, if anything, like Naomi's constant boob shots in MGS4.

Yeah but that is just their first impression, once you get them to try it out or something, they start to feel more open minded, hence the Wii's success by bringing in all demographics - hell, thanks to that thing I've noticed there are more girls I know that like playing it, and I've actually got some girl friends who are eager to play super smash bros. with me - that's gotta mean something!

Also, I'm glad they poked fun at Naomi's boob shots, like Holding "L1" and looking at her cleavage, raising your psyche meter up! -also noticing Otacon staring at her breasts was funny.

EDIT: Whatever.

I would like to see Master Chief in SC4 just for the hell of it.
Well I knew someone would say it, but if you think about it, an elite with a power sword wouldn't be too far from a plausible SC cameo - but now I'm saying that because they've put Star Wars characters in there.

Not to mention that I'm one of the guys who think Predator would fit in well in SC.

On the bright side these money grabs done by SC and others will still not net them Halo 3 money (Had to get halo in there somehow)

EDIT: Game publishers + money = Happy Game publisher
To make money you need sales.
You make more money by targeting teenage males
Therefore boobs and violence = MONEY!

Well in that case, Rayne, from Bloodrayne would be a perfect choice.

Soul Caliber is pretty much the only fighting game that I enjoy and while including Yoda/Vader/Vader's Secret Apprentice seems like a shameless plug in a sad attempt at marketing, however if they were to include cameos by characters that would actually make sense (or you know I just want in).

1: Like someone above mentioned Kratos Auron would be a perfect choice in my opinion,
2: Kefka. I don't care what they would have to do to get him to work properly but hearing his one liners while trouncing others would be too good to pass.
3: Finally, Auron from FF X. Much like both above he'd be too much fun to play to pass up.

I'm not sure where you live, but here in America, that kind of objectification is commonplace, in all aspects of the media. Hell, alot(I don't want to say most) of women here try to emulate it. I doubt they'd care at all about objectification in video games.. It's pretty much a part of daily life here. If they start playing games, they're not going to stop just because women are objectified in it. If it is a good game and they like it, they'll play it.
