A product listing at UK supermarket chain Tesco was briefly up on their website. It showed the above title and box art.
Although this is far from an official announcement, there are a few things that point to the legitimacy of this image:
The next Call of Duty game is to be made by Infinity Ward, the current generation logo is more plausible and Tesco isn't known for listing non-existent stock and, as a major retailer, will likely have gotten notice of an important game like this to makes shelf space long in advance.

This game, if it turns out to be real, may mean a return of the fan favourite 'Ghost' character, who was last seen taking chargrilled a little too seriously.

Must... Not... Buy!
Seriously, if it weren't for flashy campaigns that I should know better to avoid, I'd never have bought a COD game in the first place.

Another boring CoD game, I bet it's annoying for fans to have like 5 or more of the same series on their shelves. The only real good modern one was MW1.

After seeing how Treyarch can handle a stale franchise with a 6 year old game engine and how IW can handle MW3 i will stay as far away from any product IW will put out on display.Treyarc put a zombie mode and a decent story on a lately purely multilayer game. How can a inferior company get the same product out by changing some minor things and sell the same copies

So the only person with actual character in a game? Cool I guess. Though it'll be hard for us to have suspense with the character because we all know how he ends.

Rumor has it that this one is getting a new engine.
Took them long enough.Should i say "Yeeehaaaa"?That would only mean that a company had 1 to 2 years of development to transfer the popular mechanics of a multilayer game to a new engine.Which would mean BUGS BUGS everywhere

I have no opinion whatsoever because I have seen NOTHING of this game.
What!? NO! You can't do this! You should hate the game! Sure you haven't seen anything yet, but- but! :( Dissapointed.

May I ask what sets Call of Duty games aside from each other, besides the obvious visual upgrades? I mean, why would I squee with (checks name) Call of Duty Ghosts? I played a few. They're all more or less the same. What's new about one more CoD?

OT: I do hope nobody is actually surprised by this. Another Call of Duty game per year is pretty much as inevitable as Square Enix completely missing what their fans want and are asking for.

Well Black Ops 2 had story choices through out the game that weren't bogged down by binary choices that were simplely black and white and how you did on a mission can effect the outcome outside of just choice sections. Since the came isn't that long (7 - 9 hours on Veteran), the choices have a much larger impact than a much larger game which have to cut corners.

Not to mention it leads into many multiple endings.

Although I have no idea if Ghosts will take this route, would be cool if it did.

@shrekfan246: It brings nothing new to the shooter table whatsoever. The original MW1 was new and fresh when I played it but once they started pumping out sequels and the dude-bro mentality of console gamers grew in size, it was a lost cause. Therefore it is just another modern military shooter I am personally sick of seeing.

At least with those they really try to add more to the formula (except maybe Mario). Zelda gets a new everything (except the save the princess plot), Elder Scrolls gets an upgraded everything, Pokemon gets a new/upgraded everything (except severely less so than other games), Metal gear does the same, blah blah blah. CoD can arguably get that as well with each new game, but its certainly not half as much really. A new 4-5 hour campaign, some new weapons and perks, a few new maps, boom, new layer of icing on the old cake.

Oh, and personality, that comes with the previous games you mentioned. I never found CoD to have more personality outside of its colour pallet (But that's just me). That and we have way too many modern military shooters. At least the personality of a MGS, LoZ, Mario and Pokemon game, you're basically going to that one franchise for that experience. With CoD, you can get it anywhere with the way the AAA market is going. Shooters litter the market, but how many good Pokemon, highly selling MGS-like games and highly loved Mario and LoZ like games can you think of?

Well, according to Forbes, the dead horse is still making money, so there's no reason to stop beating it...

COD used to hold my interest, this whole new, high tech, flashy gadgets and weird dart looking exploding whatevers has kinda lost me.

Wait they're making another one?! THIS IS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED AND SURPRISING!

But in all seriousness, I've been burnt one too many times about how much of a laggy, broken mess the last few games have been and its getting really stale at this point. They've milked that engine dry almost as much as Valve has with Source (don't kill me!). Not getting suckered in this time.

I thought Infinity Ward was done with Activision. Well, I thought wrong apparently. Anyways, I won't play it if someone gives me the chance. I played MW3 and thought it was the most horrific singleplayer campaing I've ever experienced (mostly due to the fact that they abandoned the recurring themes of the series). Black Ops 2 is a shining example of poor taste in a game.

I would advice people not to get it, but that's completely fruitless. So, yaaay, Activision is getting more MONEY! Have fucking standing ovation everyone!
