Whoa! Pixel rainbows!! What does IT mean?!

I've been blighted by those pesky Fallout NV gremlins, and they just wont rest! First, after 4 hours of gameplay, the rainbows started appearing(the skybox was broken, apparently) so i changed the video settings to a little higher, and discovered, that it was the cure... a temporary one... so after an another fierce half hour of wasteland wandering and mis-adventuring, the rainbows popped up again... so, this was the limit of my crappy laptop, and I couldn't push the settings any higher, or the game would be unplayable... Leave yer smart arse responses on the current situation, might have a laugh in the end

The fact is, that there's no mention of this bug on the internet, or how to deal with it permanently, It's like the game decided to have this big ass period exclusively on my pc, so i can get pissed about it :S

Huh, I had the exact same thing on Left4Dead, except sometimes the rainbows went through the map and stopped me seeing anything, and sometimes the characters were replaced with rainbow pixel silhouettes...

For me it was definitely a disk problem, since this happened on the 360 and I have never heard of anyone else getting it. Maybe your disk is broken? (Or file corrupted, if you got it via steam)

I had a similar problem with Fallout 3, except it was the ground and it started to look like rainbow cheese. I could see through the earth and everything.

'tis a problem with your comp's video for the game, not the game itself. Don't know how to fix it, but I get that with Battlefront II on my laptop.

That doesn't make sense. The game file doesn't rely on any data from the disc for skyboxes.

That doesn't make sense. The game file doesn't rely on any data from the disc for skyboxes.

... what do you mean? Of course it relies on stuff from the disk, a skybox is just a giant shape in the sky with a texture on the inside that follows you around. It reads the texture from the disk (Or the hard drive, after it was copied from the disk on install).

I'm sure skyboxes are actually a little more complicated than that now, but that's what they all boil down to.
