Even worse than "Whoops" is "Oh no!". A "whoops" means the person doing it thinks it's not too much of an issue. When the person doing it is fully aware of the peril he just caused, you know you're in trouble.

I heard that at the range one day. Out of context, it'll make your heart stop for a moment, but what she meant was, "That's weird, I've been shooting that brand of bullet through my gun, too!"
