Who's your most and least favourite Escapist members?

Given how broad a member base the escapist has, I thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss. Just who do you like the most on the escapist? Who do you like the least? Who's posts do you always find a joy to read and who's cause a pit in your stomach just when you read their name?

I'd recommend also when you write it out, say what it is about your favourite that you like, and for your least favourite what you would recommend they do to change. Don't just use it to vent at people, and never forget they might just read this.

My personal favourite escapist member is Colour scientist. Although I can't say I've read all 11,000 posts of hers, I've yet to ever see one that has every made me annoyed or angry. Always seeming to balance a mix of humour, insight and general wit, I'm always happy to see what she adds to the conversation.

My least favourite is a newer member from Korea, Sung-Hwan. I've seen someone describe him as the eternal nothingness of the anime community and I have to say it feels apt. My biggest recommendation to you if you ever do read this is don't just always assume by defacto that you're right, and actually try and listen to what others have to say. You might find people respect your opinions more that way.

There are a handful of members who I strongly dislike, but I'll wait to see what other people say before identifying anyone. I don't want to be mean for the sake of being mean.

Probably want to modify the OP so you're only naming those you like. Calling out users like this can get ugly fast and will likely end with a thread lock.

Who's my favorite user? I can't say I have an absolute favorite here. I like a lot of different posters for different reasons, and that's not even including those I consider actual honest-to-golly-goodness friends. If we go that route I'd say my bff on here is probably Gaystar... I mean really, who else can compete with that sizzling piece of man-meat anyway?

It's very difficult for me to pick a favorite poster here. Even considering the fact that this is one of the few forum communities I've stayed in for longer than a month or two, I'm not even sure I feel comfortable with the thought, considering I rarely speak to others around these parts.

WITH THAT SAID, my favorite poster is...uh...lemme pick a bunch...because I really can't pick just one. Caramel Frappe, Elfgore, VanQ, most R&P regulars (this means pre...uh...that whole discussion being moved over there. Though there are still some folks that came with that discussion I'd say I like quite a bit). I like weeaboos and smart people. :U

As for who I dislike, this is going to seem like an especially major cop-out, but it's myself. I always feel like I contribute the least to a lot of conversations here, or don't really do much to interact with the community. But that's generally my own fault, and something I'd have to change myself.

I don't know how comfortable I feel with actively disliking anyone else on these forums, as I get the feeling they're all nice folks on the other side of the screen, even with major disagreements of opinion or smug posting attitudes. But maybe I'm just too much of an optimist.

I'm not one to pick favorites, and I'm not the kind of person to dislike anyone. I disagree with a few members' opinions from time to time, but I wouldn't say I dislike them. I'd need a very, very strong reason to do so. I treat "hate" like how most people treat "trust," in which it has to be earned.

Anyway, pretty much anyone who is nice enough is my favorite I guess. Havent really been here long enough to recognize you guys. Some I do remember, like LaggyTeaBag because of the name, others like JohhnyNovowhateveridontknowhowtospellhisname because he is in EVERY thread, but I don't actually know what they are like.

The least favorite? Thats a touchy subject. I try my best to let some asshole on the internet bother me too much. Pretty sure anyone who might have earned my title of "Least Liked Random Asshole" has been banned already, so no one honestly.

Well this is going to end well. Anyway I like Evil Smurf because kittens. Who doesn't love kittens? Silvanus is pretty cool. I kind of don't like to talk about anything political because Silvanus is far more articulate about it then me, and my opinion is close enough if a bit more moderate on some things.

As for dislike I can't say hate anyone here that much. I don't think I have a single person on my ignore list, but in general I don't use those things. And I just don't have the energy to argue for that long or hold a grudge. Sure some people do say some consistently stupid things but at that point I just kind of feel sorry for them. Forgive me if that sounds condescending.

You're not alone, I've been here forever and ever and I still feel like I don't interact that much with other posters.

That said, a lot of the really regular posters these days seem like pretty cool people and do a good job of either making me laugh or being pretty wise, reasonable people. Off the top of my head, people like Fappy, Thaluikhain (provided I didn't completely butcher the spelling of that) and Colour Scientist- Although that's just limited by my memory which is really really pissing me off right now. BloatedGuppy once gave me some brilliant advice, so I'm eternally grateful for that too.

That's not to say that posters that haven't racked up silly post counts aren't also awesome, it's just that my memory sucks and I haven't gotten to know people well enough yet.

As for least favourite? I... Don't really feel comfortable with that. In any case, the forums seem like a much nicer, more friendly place than they once were. I certainly can't think of any active posters that I dislike, although there certainly used to be a lot of people that pissed me off no end. On that note, MaxTheReaper was incredibly annoying and a legion of copycat misanthropist assholes sprang up around him, so there's my vote.

I have my favourites, but I think they know who they are by now and if I say any more nice things about them they're liable to take out restraining orders on me.

As for least favourite, well, there is this one guy. Can't remember his username though, it was Russian sounding, "Zaitsev" or something. Although the person wasn't Russian at all, the pretentious fuck. Anyway, he's been around for a few years at least and he's gotta be the most joyless, grumpy prick on the planet. Just this walking torrent of sarcasm, passive aggression and smug condescension. Man, fuck that guy, I hope he gets banned.

I have to echo the advice to edit the thread. Listing your least favourite Escapists can only lead to fighting or possibly bullying. It would be a shame to see the thread get shut down.

As for my favourite Escapist, there are so many people I adore here, I couldn't pick one. I suppose, for people who matter in my real life, I'd have to say Gaystar. He deserves a medal for putting up with me.

Other than that, I think I appreciate the users who make me laugh the most. Baffle, Spot1990... I could be here a while.

That's the main thing I don't like about these threads, there're so many awesome users here, you're always going to forget people. That's why I always cop out on making long lists. If you put in a lot of effort to make a really long, comprehensive list, you look like more of a dickhead if you forget someone.

Neither are pleasant to see outside or inside their user group(s), but I'd rather they stayed relatively segregated[footnote]Changed from "ghettoized".[/footnote] and didn't infect the forums. As for the people I'm not a fan of seeing, anybody who knows me can probably imagine. I don't like dishonesty, cheap cynicism, passive aggression, pettiness, cowardice, hypocrisy and endless whining. Basically, if anybody acts like a nasty sniping teenager in an adult's body then I probably don't like being around them. Then again, most people would probably say that. Doesn't take much to please me.

I'll answer half of the OP: Baffle's one of those people who's funny without being sarcastic, tiresome and boring. Same goes for Beffudled Sheep and Teoes. I know people who could learn a lot from him. They probably won't, but they should. Caramel Frappe's one of the nicest people I've had the privilege of meeting in my lifetime.

I also wanna give shout-outs to some of my other favourite EUNOPF members: RipVanTinkle, T0ad 0f Truth and Drummodino, for being a beacon of light in times of gloominess.

Even if you're not on there, its not that easy to earn my ire. I think we're all here because we're bored and looking for likeminded folks to talk to. I tend not to engage the few on my shitlist or joined soley because of the big 2014 shitstorm. I'm not about to unilaterally declare new members terrible. Their writing and demeanor make it obvious soon enough.

My least favourite person? Well, I do have one but I'm not going to call them out by name. All I will say is I don't like them or the way they post. They have a major holier than thou attitude, often call out people for fallacies with their own fallacies and I have actually had other people send me PMs asking "What's with this person? Why are they so awful?"
