Why and how do you play?

I would like to know why people find games interesting. Is it because of novelty for thing like the Wii? Or the glee and brutality of doing things you would never do in hack n slashes?

I wish to know why and how you play your game: Do you swear at everyone beforehand and fail in-game? Or are you courteous and make it fun for all?

I play as I like testing my reactions and skills, I do it for the the moments when you do an insanely cool move and then think "yeah I did that :)" these moments are why I play, Why do you?

I play for fun and to escape from life.

I rarely get frustrated if I lose to people better than me.

I'm not really sure why I play... I just find it fun...

I like the feeling you get from beating that boss, progressing onto the next area, your character getting stronger. In competitive games I like knowing I beat another player, or that I'm getting better. I'm sure there's an element of escapism, but my life is pretty good so it's not really about that.

Also I like the social side of arcade gaming, it's really cool knowing you can go there, meet people, make friends and hang out.

Mostly it's about knowing that I'm getting better at doing something, which is probably why I like studying and martial arts as well. I can see and feel myself improving so I keep pushing myself.

I enjoy playing games both seriously and for fun. I try to be nice but lets be realistic shall we? If your losing you don't feel like being nice and cuddly to the person who is whipping you.

Nice comparison never thought of that. I do karate and can see the similarities albeit they are obscure at first.

I mostly play games for fun, except RPGs but those aren't too hard in the first place, and usually don't care much about winning or losing. However as to the swearing part when me and a few friends together it can sound like the galleys of a ship full of angered pirates. That's not cause of the gaming though, that's just how we are.

Why? For Fun
How? With a Controller^^
I try to get everything in a game and enjoy the cutscene at the end of every game

No but I'm also not going to start getting angry and shouting abuse down my headset because someone's better than me.

I'm satisfied enough with my genitals not to have to prove I'm the king of shooters.
