Have the game on steam already. Best part is I got it for free since I traded some items from TF2 for it. So since its free I dont care about DLC since it will still cost me less

I think theres that social thing (i tend to have with my group of friends at least), of that a bunch of you are buying a game when it comes out and then talk about it, and you kind of miss out if you get it later on.
For example i didnt get gears of war 3 when it came out, only got it recently, and i could never really involve myself in conversations about it with friends. (And now of course its old hat and they're not particularly interested).

I always buy the games, beat them, then download the DLC, that way I enjoy the experience and show my support. I don't know for sure, it's just been 5 long years and it's finally down to 5 days. I'm not going to wait forever so I can save money. I'd likely blow that money on something far less productive.

because I don't want to wait another 3 months to a year to play the game just so I can buy it at a cheaper price with more content.

Besides, I'm getting it on PS3 and then when the GOTY edition comes out I will hopefully be in a better position to get a better PC that can run it at full specs, then I can get the GOTY edition on my PC and get it with mods as well.

If we all wait to buy it later, the developer will never make the expansion packs because the game didn't make enough money.

If everyone mooches no one can

It maybe impatience for some, or maybe its the unconscious need to play the game in its original and raw form.

I'm buying Skyrim now, because I want to play it now. If expansions and such are released during my playtime with the game, and I find myself enjoying it enough then I'll buy them. It might be cheaper in the long run to just buy this GOTY, or Ultimate edition or whatever they call it at the time, but that usually adds another year of waiting at minimum, besides the DLC and expansions usually come out on rather spaced out dates and by the time their released I will have more money and thus my cash flow isn't generally affected by a slightly increased total price over waiting another year.

That's my logic on it at least.

I am very impatient.
Especially since it looks incredibly pretty, Bethesda marketed me like the fool I am.

I am especially looking forward to the dragon fights, hopefully it'll be a real 'watercooler game'.
I will probably pay full price for the dlc's as well.... Sigh.

Because after being killed hundreds of times in Dark Souls and suffering empty victory after empty victory in most modern military shooters, I'm about ready to be the goddam hero again!
