Why Are So Many Manga Characters Drawn to Look Like White People?

I'm surprised/disturbed by how many people posted answers accusing me of thinking that Japanese mangaka draw their characters the way they did because they "look up to us" or "admire our beauty." Far from it.

Thanks for the videos and history/drawing lessons.

They really helped me understand it a bit more.

Still don't know why Tite Kubo likes gigantic boobs so much :p

I don't understand why that sounds like an accusation. Or that it's wrong.

In other words - why are you complaining? :p

They must be asian, at least most of them are because if they are sometimes caucasians then they are either wearing bikiny with texture of American flag (or in case of men, only their muscles), sunglasses and drink beer if they are American or wear victorian clothes and live in city that looks like Paris if they are European. I haven't yet seen Australian anime character.

what I ment was..Ive "heard about" (never actually encounted, only heard about) the sterotypical otaku/weaboo who is like "japanise animation/culure is SUPERIOR to western animation/culture" I imagine the kind of person who would hate Avatar the last air bender because it isnt japanise

when in reality Anime was insprired by western cartoons/animation..sure thease days it doesnt matter...but its still funny in a way
Well, it is superior in some aspects. The lack of "kid shackles" in anime allows for great breath in subject matter, in contrast to American cartoons where it's either a) "adult" comedy e.g. The Simpsons or b) kids show e.g. everything else. American cartoon writers try "get away with" as much as they can, but in the end they are still "on a leash".
