Why are there no LPs here?

I understand that the whole, Let's Play thing is mostly based around the Something Awful forums, but I'm kinda surprised I don't see any here. I mean this is a forum based mostly around games, playing games, and talking about games.

So just a simple question to you escapists. Why are there no LP threads floating around here? If there are and I don't know about them, please point them out.

I think Amnestic was doing one for a Pokemon game, IIRC. He had posted a thread of it quite a while back.

I also think there's an LP user group, so you may want to check there (or join?)

Good question. Toss up between Gaming and Reviews, but I think either could be considered viable.

I'd personally like to see you take on A Drug That Makes You Dream so I can finally see the other two character's stories.[footnote]The only one I can find on Youtube is Aeka's.[/footnote]

This is why I asked, personally. I'm considering LPing a few of my favorite games, just for the hell of it, but I 1)Don't know where to start and 2) didn't know if Lps were disregarded here given that in the time I've been here on the escapist, I've never seen one.

No user groups according to my search. It's not hard to do one or advertise them that much. I mean I'm doing Kingdom Hearts 2 100%, it's just that it's been on hold until I can get a decent chair considering this one is about to break, so doing Pokemon hacks in the meantime.

I guess someone could start a group if they wanted.

Also most of the people at SA are nitpikky priks so youtube gave rise to a lot of newer ones, and some LPers use their forums to ask people to at least give it a shot. Raocow's is one that comes to mind.

That's...well...ah, I don't think that'll happen, to tell the truth. I know people have done actual LPs with visual novels, and I could probably do one myself, but...I'm not really sure about that one. I guess if somehow I actually get into LPing, it might happen someday, but doing my favorite game (one that's made me more emotional than any other)...

I wouldn't feel comfortable doing one of that game. At all. It's just too personal.

<color=aliceblue>I guess if I get the right video software, I could post those stories, though. I don't really consider those to be LPs.

I was actually considering one of two games I don't have really strong emotional attachments to, either a video LP of <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.178061-Off-Topic-Reviews-Soulbringer>Soulbringer with commentary (unlikely, since I don't have video capture software), or a text LP of an old FMV puzzle game called Rama, from a character perspective.
