It's one of Life's great mysteries, isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God, watching everything? Y'know, with a plan for us 'n' stuff. I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

Because if humanity wasn't there, I would get bored, so the concept of "free Will" and sentience seperate from my own are only means of entertaining myself until I get tired of it all. All In All, this world is just a part of my consciousness seeking to entertain itself.

(If you understood that, good for you, just remember, I'm a narcissist because I deserve to be)

There is no why, People are stupid and are always trying to find a meaning or reason behind everything.

People are stupid. End of story.

42.

Why do we need a reason to be here? Cant humanity just accept the fact evolution happened and be done with it?

I don't want to think to much on this subject, I have done it before and I had a headache for 2 weeks.

We are here to continue the species. The species is here because it is here.

Spin it to fit any power-grabbing religion you want, it doesn't matter. The great thing about existing for no reason is that you can pretend to exist for any reason you like and you aren't getting in the way of the original goal of nothing. Technically the only 'bad' thing to do would be to extinct the whole human race, but then that's the species' problem, not yours.

I don't know why YOU peasants are here, but I'm here to eat a lot of Funyuns and drink a lot of Dr. Pepper.

So far, I'm doing my duty.

I guess it's a rite of passage of a sorts, living I mean. I'm not sure what else it could be.

Though sometimes I'm tempted to be the cynical bastard and say "no fucking good reason.", But screw that. Cop out.

EDIT - I'm also certain it has something to do with getting up at 8 in the morning to listen to Pantera and play Saints Row 2. Or it could just be me.

We are here to live and to die. Nothing else will make a difference, unless you blow up the world or something, but I don't think many people do that.
I don't believe there is a purpose for us being here. We just are and in a couple of years we won't and then there'll be others.

To entertain God or Gods, unless they have the ability to not ever be bored! Or the explanation from South Park was pretty good, aliens collected different creatures from other planets and put them all on one planet to see what would happen.

There is no 'why' there is only 'how'.

Asking 'why are we here' is liking asking a chemical reaction if it thinks it has a moral purpose in life.
typical example of flawed logic thinking. the world wasn't built on logic, logic was conceived by sentient species as an elaborate stimuli-response way of thinking. the best example to counter this is what has been discovered in quantum science.

there's much we don't know, and making assumptions only drives us further away from the answers. perhaps a chemical reaction does know that it has a moral purpose in life; how would you know?

I'm here to ride bikes, have fun and make babies (once I find the right girl for me...)

As for the rest of you, that's your problem.
