Why are you buying Kinect?

all fanboyism aside, i really don't see the appeal of Kinect and its seems ridiculously expensive for what will inevitably be a novelty add on or gimmick. I believe the line up of games for it proves its just about younger gamers who play family friendly games (which is not the 360's main target audience).

...OKay no, I don't even have 360, I just wanted to say that. But I like the idea of the Kinect >.> I think it'll make the future more interesting. I'd get one if they made something interesting for it. ...Or found a way to hook it to a computer for even more interesting applications.

So you don't like it, and apparently you decide Xbox 360's target audience. You don't buy it: problem solved.

I think people will buy it because they want a controller like Kinect. Plain and simple. No need to be condescending about it.

I suppose that's the reason for developing it, they want to expand the target audience beyond the hardcore gamers. This is good from a business perspective, IF it succeeds in attracting a casual crowd. Quite frankly, I can't imagine anyone who would buy an xbox and kinect when you can just get a wii for a cheaper price to get the same kind of games without having to clear a pool table size of space in your living room.
