This is where the strange old man on the street told me to go. Right now I'm just waiting for another message...

I'm here because the bloody thread asked 'Why are you here', so here i am in all my glory!

Actually i just love the Escapist, it is the best place for gaming news, and the social interaction does me good.

Yahtzee. A friend showed me his videos and I have been following them ever since. I often use him as one of the MANY reviewers I go to to determine whether I should buy a game.

I like getting a consolidated source of gaming/geek culture news and rumors.

The community makes for one of the most intelligent web forums I have come across.

The ability to get instant feedback from said intelligent community.

ZP for some reason helps me write.

I like to debate, which on webforums is hard to do without it turning into a flame war, which here the forum is a little less flammable than most.

So... yeah, the people. Good people here.

When looking up Portal on Wikipedia, there was a link to Yahtzee's review of the Orange Box; I watched that, got hooked on Zero Punctuation, explored some other features on the site, and made an account.

The news mainly. I like to keep up to date with my videogaming news and the Escapist pretty much tells me what I need to know, and if worst comes to worst I can just cross reference that shit with Joystiq or Kotaku. D;

I think I originally came here after viewing the "Assassin's Creed 2" Zero Punctuation review, and that got me hooked on ZP, then I lurked for a few months, on the forums, then finally decided to join.

Now I'm obsessive about getting the "Morpheus" badge.
I have the Morpheus badge!

*ahem*, right, sorry.
Just a tip, going <a=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/index/362-Forum-Games-RP>here is a really good way to get posts fast. You can pump out like 100 posts, in only an hours.

OT: Why do I come here?
Well, I'm pretty much universally hated by everyone. The Escapist is just a welcome distraction from my life.
Plus, a couple of people on here actually think I'm an alright guy. Which is more than I can say for anyone I know.

Fat Man Spoon got me here through links.

A group, great friends, a ton of fun and a relationship keep me coming back for more.

I started out here with Zero Punctuation, like so many people.

Now, the forums are like a second home to me, and the Asylum is full of the best people. :)

Because your inherrent lack of any actual social skill demands the rationalization that it's your choice. As such, you seek out other social failures to reinforce the dellusion with the voice of someone other than yourself - who supplies it to you for the reciprocated privilage.

Because you've been mocked for being ugly, fat, or useless - and go to where such things may be concealed. You say it doesn't matter, but it does. You're reminded of it every time you overeat and feel bloated, swearing to yourself that one day you'll look like Andy Whitfield or whoever.

Because you have no friends at all with which you could communicate if there was every a power outage and ergo an abundance of free time to sit at your desk, surrounded by half-empty cups, asking questions with which you full well know the answer to already.

I find the articles rather interesting, and the community rather clever and amusing. And if I stay here, someone might one day listen! And I will feel important!

I enjoy watching the videos, reading the articles, keeping up with gaming news, reading forums etc. The people on the site are pretty nice and such so I keep coming back for a good discussion.
