I'm not, because that's stupid.
Waah, waaaah, the world sucks, I suck, you suck, they suck, no. No it doesn't.

Well I'm not an overly melodramatic and misanthropic hipster douchebag so I can't say I ever have. Judging close to 7 billion people for some pathetic little reason always seemed like a bit of a daft thing to do.

You are aware that this is a joke thread... right? Or did I sound too serious? Here, I'll link a video of a laughing baby to convey the nature of this thread.

The levels of adorability are indeed high in that one but any opportunity to spread anti-hipsterthrope propaganda must be jumped upon!

But it's equally hipster to complain about people saying they've lost their faith in humanity, is it not?

An interesting counterpoint. I think intent is the key and this topic unfortunatly happens to be a wee bit of a sore spot for me, hence the initial rant. On the other hand, I concede that the intent of a forum post is pretty damn tricky to see, I'd like to think however that while it may come off as hipsterish my little tirade wasn't particularly misanthropic.

Well, damned if you do, damned if you don't, so you might as well not.

I'm not losing my faith in humanity because I know way down deep inside that there's still hope for us to become better. We survived the Dark Ages, we have internet pornography and said internet with which we have access to more knowledge than God. Plus our art, literature and music are pretty much a gigantic monument to our awesomness and willingness to make good things better.

But there are always those moments that make me shake my head at humanity and ask: ''Why?''
Yes like when you listen turn on the radio and hear Avril Laveen on the top of the charts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQmEd_UeeIk

No my faith in music has degraded, music is subjective, but surely the crap the popular bands a putting out with music my 10 year old brother can play on the guitar isn't anywhere near as good classical music.

Surely its a denegration of taste?

Oh and your mention about the internet and porn? Yes, we have a lot of knowledge through the internet, but isn't almost half of internet usage porn? It's at least a third.

Because my dear Mexico is in the biggest shithole it has dug for itself in all of eternity, because we can't seem to get over the fact that we are not perfect, because I am not perfect, because friends disappoint me, because awesome people die, because awesome people get treated like garbage, because we are ignorant, because we are humans. I hate humanity because we are human. We seem to be little more than a parasite, giving nothing to the world and battling between ourselves in ways that make theoretical wars like the ones in 1984 and other theoretical novels seem like paradise. I have a lot more, but I'm just tired of humanity right now.

I'm not.

I'm sure soon there will be more edgy pseudo-cool misanthropes than not, then people can lose faith in irony. x)

Nothing could make me lose my faith in Humanity, because no matter how bad things get, no matter how many whale-killing, backwards, right-wing, climate-change-denying, homophobic, xenophobic, religious-extremist bigots there are out there, there are ALWAYS good, moral, decent minded people who fight for what is right. The punks, the hippies, the social activists. Wherever there is dark, there will be light to counter it. We are on the turning point in our social consciousness. I feel that very soon we will start to see a real shift towards more sustainable, healthy and generally humanist living practices. Humanity is beautiful, there are bad eggs in the mix, but these are definitely in a minority. If the majority of humanity were as bad as some people say, we would already be long gone. The only problem is the high proportion of apathy among humanity, but I believe that this too will change if the people who do care keep working at raising awareness.

I dunno I've always thought that when you compare the modern era and all it's horrible events to the history of mankind, you'll find we are improving. It's slow and as we grow we create more problems, but we also solve old ones. I don't think we will ever be a perfect society, but I think that the desire to be better is progress.

uhhhh could be more of a local population thing but the fact that im a decent guy with at least something to offer who is also single and allways has been exept for the three days before my ex moved to another town and decided to cut off all connections with me and other than being currently rooted in a small town where me changing the single status is not going to happen and being interested in another female who dated a guy who cheated on her with her best friends while she was in the hospital and then later moved after she broke it off with him..... yeah not really all of humanity just the local population
