Games are more fun. Considering I'm crippled right now, they're all I really have going for me too.

When I was a kid, my big sister used to spend hours on the phone talking to her friends. This is not anti-social; and yet somehow, doing the same thing with a computer and a game makes one anti-social?

"Because I hate idiots."

Seriously, I'm not that anti-social. I do interact with others in-person and online. So anyone who calls me as such just for shits and giggles is just being a wank.

I go through phases of being insanely social for a few weeks then being a hermit for awhile.

I love going to open parties where I know nobody (including the host) except the few people I trekked there with, they have been some of the most interesting nights of my life. But there are times when I just can't be arsed with people and I just want to do smeg all except play games and code things in the dark.

I get bored of one and switch, at the moment I'm transitioning out of being overly social thanks to Christmas/New years/my birthday and starting to be a hermit again.
Until something worthwhile happens I don't think I'll venture outside.
(Not that it takes much to sway me, just I won't make the plans)

Usually too tired.

Like today, when I stayed at school for another 5 hours to get a project done.

I have plenty of friend mine you, but I hate socializing when I'm tired.

'I'm not antisocial I just don't like you!' is such a childish argument.

OK, I might grant you "unwilling or unable", but it's more because I'm just not in the fucking mood right now.
Wait. So, you're saying a dictionary definition doesn't apply to you because you have moods?

Nobody should be forced to socialize, because that means you just flunked definition #2.
That logic was so backwards. You're displaying antagonistic behavior towards our mythical questioner. You openly claim to be solitary, which is an antisocial act in and of itself. Guess what? If you're antagonistic to people just because 'hey, fuck you I'm GRRR', you're displaying antisocial behaviors.

Order is my highest societal value, so there goes #3 into the shitter, and you also flunked definition #4,
You are well aware that that statement makes no sense. Are you being obtuse on purpose?

which means according to psychiatrists, YOU are the one with antisocial personality disorder. Now go check yourself into a fucking nuthouse. I'm busy here."
Again, you're misconstruing the definition for... why are you misconstruing that definition? You're obviously antisocial enough to not care about what people think about you. Why lie?

If you actually said that to anyone (not that you'd have the gumption), all people would get is that you're a jerk because fllllbbt but you're not antisocial because you said so. You displayed the answer in an aggressive manner that really makes your opinion laughable.

Well, see, the only time I've ever been asked that is because I almost never look at people's eyes or face when I'm talking to them. One of my friends had noticed that (Which is the first time they EVER noticed something about me, after two years of being friends) and asked me. I didn't want to go into the whole psychlogical explanation of it all, so I just told her "Eh, 'cuz I'm socially awkward like that."

My reasoning is usually, I don't like to go out if I don't have to, and I don't like to entertain. Of course, just as often I'm the exact opposite. But, as it is, that's my reason for antisocialness, well that and people irritate me in large doses.

"You're obviously antisocial enough to not care about what people think about you." What do I look like, a 15-year-old? I value the opinions of friends and foes alike, as it makes me a better person.

"Not that you'd have the gumption". I'm actually known in my circle of friends as "the guy without the filter". If someone's genuinely pissing me off I have no compunction about telling them to bugger off. I'll tone it down for people I don't honestly want to tear to shreds, but again, that's because I'm not completely socially inept, unlike, say, someone who has no concept whatsoever of satire such as yourself.

Am I a jerk? To some, yes. To others, no. And my opinion is "laughable"? Who the fuck asked you? That was the single worst example of counterattack I've seen on this site so far this year. You're in the running for Smacktard of the Month with an attitude like that.

Try harder next time.

It's simply invalid. It really is. Online socialization is not sufficient to spend your entire life on it, in my opinion, but that doesn't mean you're somehow missing out on life for being online a lot: it is still a perfectly viable form of socializing. And video games have artistic value that most people don't understand.

Beyond that, lots of people are indoors as much as us gamers. Some of the best authors spend a lot of time sitting in a room, writing alone. Nothing wrong with that.

It's just people seeing that we're by ourselves a lot and making a negative thing out of it since they don't understand it.

"I'm not anti-social, I'm selectively social."

Because it's the truth. I can't stand most people, but that doesn't mean I'm not social at all.

There is a big difference between enjoying different activities... and being a dickhead hateful asshole.
