I hated Revelations's gameplay. Brotherhood wasn't that much better. However, I loved Assassin's Creed 2, and I loved the overall story of the series even more then the gameplay itself. It was enough for me to keep SOME hope in the series. So, despite all that, looking up gameplay, reviews, knowing Ubisoft themselves and how they don't like PC, I still went for Assassin's Creed 3. Call me crazy, but I like the core mechanics of the game, and Assassin's Creed 3 seemed to be.. okay. Better then Revelations at least it seemed. So I got it, and hoped to God that I didn't burn money. Installed it, started playing, started somewhat liking it. It appealed to me more then Revelations at least, and that enough was for me to give this game a thumbs up.
First sequence begins, I keep playing. Then I come up to a part where apparantly you're supposed to kidnap and steal a captain? Can't quite remember. And then it crashed. I could hear the sound of the game, but I couldn't go back in, and it just crashed to my desktop. Not too worrying, games crash sometimes, right? I ended the process with Task Manager, and launched again. Started at my checkpoint, played for about 20 seconds, crash. Now I got worried. Tried again, same thing. Every single time. I researched the problem, and apparantly the Nvidia Geforce 500 series don't cope with the game too well, for whatever reason. I own a GTX 580 myself, and there's nothing wrong with the card. It runs every single game I own at max with fantastic frames. But for some reason, Ubisoft/Ubisoft games hate my guts, so they somehow have to sabotage my fun.
I'm going to go somewhat insane, because the last 2 games I've bought are messing with me. Hitman Absolution just plain out doesn't launch for some odd reason, but I hope that'll get resolved somehow.
So, like a puppy in the rain, I come to your door escapists. Do you have any idea how I might fix this problem?
