Everyone knows that the new trilogy sucks but George Lucus keeps forcing Star Wars fans to put up with it.So why can't Lucas Arts just move on to episode 7 with no jar-jars or anything stupid like that. They can use the Yuuzhan Vong( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuuzhan_Vong ) and just move on.Oh and before you say it the Yuuzhan Vong are pretty important considering they killed chewie and captured Coruscant.

Huh?
I wasn't aware that everyone thought the new Trilogy sucked.
I enjoyed all 3 of the movies.
And i love the 3 older ones as well.

and what do you mean by move on?
The only thing i can think of that's still going on that takes place in the new trilogy is the Clone Wars TV series.
And that's a pretty freaking good show.

They look a little like hellraisers. I heard rumors of a tv show. No idea if it will see the light of day.

Edit: So there is a show.

One, put that last sentence of yours in some freaking
quote me and then look at this part if you don't know how
before someone lobotomizes you.

Second, "everyone knows" assumes a truth. Like or dislike of a movie is an opinion. I, for one, liked the prequels.

Capturing Coruscant isn't all it's cracked up to be, since the ruling faction on that planet changes every few decades.

The only way Star Wars could do anything set after Return of the Jedi would be to higher new actors, as Harrison , Carrie, and Mark are no longer up to spec. I'm sorry, but it's true. Of course, by doing this, there would be a huge outrage. Who else can play Han, Leia, and Luke? You could go the way of making the movies into animated movies, but that raises a whole other issue.
Before, I would say the next set of movies need to by the Thrawn Trilogy. I still say that, but like I said about the actors...So, I would say forget the Vong War (too depressing anyway, and the ending to it is a cheap sellout). Do something with Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, Lowie, and the new generation of Jedi. Anakin and Tahiri could be in it too. The original cast can make cameo appearances, and their ages would fit in with the cannon. Of course, this would have to be before so many of the characters were "destroyed" by current events in the books, but I'm sure someone can come up with a story set between the Vong War and Young Jedi Knights.

Nice to know someone else knows about this stuff.

It's easy enough to milk the franchise as-is.

Besides, isn't "moving on" how we got Jar-Jar in the first place?

Seems like progress is likely to lead to more of it.

Well even compared to the old movies i really enjoyed the new movies.
Even if they weren't as good.
But i don't get the "shoving it down fans throats" thing.

For me I think it not really fair to compare the old with the new. I watched the old as a kid so its kinda hard to recapture that magic.

i would like to see a movie about the events portrayed in the series of books about the new republic and new jedi order. It could work because they just have it set far enough down the line where they dont need the original cast, but they would mention them by either talking about their descendants, etc.

They're are so many books and other stories that are all considered cannon that there's really no way that all of them would work.
I personally would say the next movie should be Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Throne" trilogy, but that's not going to happen. We will get no 7th movie and if we did it would have the same potential to be a shaming failure as 1-3 had.
Any more star wars movies would be just a ban idea.

I'd kill for a Star Wars series taking place after Jedi, but I don't see a reason to jump all the way up to the New Jedi Order era. Plenty of great stories take place in the 25 year period between the Battle of Yavin and Vector Prime.

Anyway, as I see it, it's George Lucas' fault. As long as he's got total control over the series, nothing as visual as a TV show or a movie is likely to get very far beyond the time period of the two trilogies. Sad as it is, the man's only in it for the money now (though given what a merchandising monster Star Wars has become, I guess I can't blame him), and that means nothing completely new and risky is going to get made.

idk re releasing things over and over seems to be working so far.
Yeah, why change the business plan that is making so much.

The best way to get him "move on" would be reject any and all items relating to prequelogy era Star Wars. That means no one buying new edition releases. No one watching the Clone Wars show (is that even on still). etc. That is asking for a lot really.

Personally I would like to see a (good) game based on Boba Fett.

Star Wars was an amazing thing. He started off with one movie and now people have written hundreds of books and texts around it.

I actually though the topic was going to be about just leaving Star Wars behind and have Lucus actually work on something that hasn't been written yet. A new story. A new movie. A new anything but Star Wars!

I like this idea but first they need to make...

KotOR 3 the return of Revan! ( movie or video game )

And before someone say's it the MMO they are making in place of a 3rd KotOR doesn't count imo.

No, goddammit. Star Wars will not move on, it will remain rooted in the past for as long as possible. Specifically 3,500 years in the past.

EDIT: Ninja'd, sort of.
