To me, jobs are about fulfillment primarily and money secondarily.
Remember, you'll do this work for the better part of your life, so you'd better find something you like, not just something to pay the bills with.
And many of the more interesting careers (depends on your personal taste, of course) are only accessible with university-education or similar.
