Why do game developers think it's a good idea to put in hundreds of items to collect. Like Assassin's Creed... over 400 flags to collect and 40 templars to kill. For an achievement. Personally, I gave up on all the flags pretty quickly. AC2 has a hundred feathers to collect. It's better than AC1, but its still outrageous. CoD 4 had the right idea... find a few collectables and get a cool cheat to play around with. Assassin's Creed gives you nothing but some achievements. AC2 gives you two things *spoiler* a crappy weapon and a cape that makes you notorious EVERYWHERE as well as a couple achievements.
Do the devs think we have fun looking around a HUGE game for tiny little items? I sure as hell don't. Do you?? What's your opinion on this matter? Should games get rid of collecting this and that? And should they give something USEFUL for finding them besides a crummy achievement/trophy?
