Some folks are good at video games, others are great. Still others are in a different league entirely, exhibiting crazy gameplay skills that border on superhuman and leave me flabbergasted.

What are your favorite jaw-dropping displays that leave you thinking "why do I even bother?"

You just gotta want it more than anything else in your free time, such as a love life or a healthy career.

I know the guy above me doesnt want it hecause he says he reads 60 classic books a year. Thats not the behavior of somebody who wants to wreck pubs.

So they died a few times. Against THAT, it's understandable. Also they eventually did a death-free run of it... somehow.

Any time qzecwx plays a Mega Man ROMhack. His playthough of Rockman No Constancy, one of the hardest MM hacks ever, made me a fan. Granted he does take hits wherever it's safe for the sake of speed, but some of those hacks are so tough that it's still impressive.

The perks of playing single-player and not bothering to watch other people is that I don't feel as inadequate. Though admittedly I'm the kind of person who normally won't even touch a games higher difficulty settings so that should say something about how skilled I am at games.

I've managed to beat a couple of games on easy and a few on normal, but seeing some people playing it on the hardest levels I just have no idea how they manage to dodge everything.

Something like this. I love Tales of combat systems but it pains me that I'll never be able to pull of something like this.

Anyone who played UN Squadron back in the SNES knows how difficult the final stage was especially at the true final boss.

So seeing some punk beat it WITHOUT taking any damages and to add insult to injury, he or she was using the starter plane which only has three weapons compared to the final plane which can used all the purchased weapons AND using that powerful lightning rain attack twice which no other plance can do (which me and bro always used for the final stage)! So yeah I did say something like that when I finish watching the video. I mean we got to the final stage so many time but we always fail.

Tetris: The Grand Masters. Pretty much anyone accomplishing even high ranks in it. To put it simply, at last count, in the entire world there are four people with the Grandmaster title for the third game. Four. And when you see the game being played you realize just how difficult it is to get it. For me, just reading the requirements made me nope right out.

Beating Mike Tyson's Punch-Out is an achievement in itself. Beating the game blindfold is something else entirely.

Games like the Halo franchise, Call of Duty, and basically any MMO out on the market. When I see people snipe opponents from half-way across the map or entire teams of hardcore players grief lowers' just for shits, I kinda wonder why even compete?

MMOs are a whole other problem because your literally playing along with millions of other players and most of them favor larger party exploration and missions otherwise you're going to be hitting difficulty curves faster than you can beat them and boom they become not fun anymore.

I usually only get that feeling when I've lost like seven or more times in a row because I keep getting stuck with teammates that have no idea what the hell they're doing while getting matched against guys who know exactly what they are doing. Whenever I see people doing stuff like in those videos I can only wonder how many hundreds, or even thousands, of hours they've dumped into this one game to get that good at it.

For me, its games like StarCraft and fighting games like Street Fighter. I want to like them but I am not very good at them. There are people who are better than me, and there are people who are waays out of 95% of playerbase's skill levels.

I like to think i'm an above average Yasuo player but then I see shit like Arkadata pulling off the sexiest Wind Wall i've ever seen.

Oh... Nevermind then, guess i'll just be chilling down here in Silver watching the entire enemy team walk into a 5 man knockup like the fucking clueless goon squad they are.

Heh, that TF2 Sniper reminds me of my old TF2 days. I dare say I was as good as that guy, maybe slightly better. All it takes is playing a lot really, it's honestly not a very special skill seeing as the sniper rifle is a hitscan weapon. You have to be fast and know the maps well, that's it.

That Demoman is something else though... That juggling he does, what the hell.

Anyway, I had those moments when as an innocent teenager I decided to get Starcraft. I played one round online after which I thought "I ain't even gonna bother, bye." and uninstalled it.

Recently watching Rocket League footage had invoked the same feeling. That game looks so impressive and fun, and when I see crazy shit like this:
I just go "Naw nevermind I'm never gonna be that good." That game is one big bundle of crazy tricks.

Also MOBA's. Just...MOBA's.

Watching Faker just makes me thing "well fuck, I'll never be able to do any of this."

Same goes for Halo 3 pro players.

I hate this. Let me play Destiny. Let me play KotOR 2.5, let me enjoy the Unwell Woods and let me actually walk ten feet on Hoth without having to talk to people. I hate asking people for help, and I hate letting them down in games. That's why I hate L4D. Now just let me play my Star Wars game without having to go to flashpoints and raids or whatever.

OT: Not game related, but I like to rap as a hobby. Tech N9ne is a prime example of crushing any dream you have about rap. It's not just speed, Twisted Insane has him beat, but his style, the way he can flow to any track, the creativity and intelligence not to mention the energy that goes into every song. I listen to him sometimes and think of just hanging it up. No way I can surpass him.

You know what's tougher than all of these games? Tetris.

This guy was the sixth person in the world -- and the first outside Japan -- to get the Grand Master [http://tetris.wikia.com/wiki/Tetris_The_Grand_Master_3_Terror-Instinct#GrandMaster_Requirements] ranking.
