Ever since high school I became really good friends with three other guys (their were other people too but we quickly lost contact once we got into college.) These three guys have been my best friends and really, the only people, I really hang out with anymore. But now, during my second half of my second year of college I find I can't stand being around my best friends... Last year we hung out almost every time we all had a break between classes but this semester we only hangout on Fridays to get lunch and occasionally on Saturday too.
The thing is, the three of them still hang out every day and I have the time to hang out with them too I just really don't want to. They don't even call me on Friday's to hang out or just, to hang out in general. I usually have to call them to join in on plans they already had set up before I called. I don't know whats changed but, as the title for this topic says, why do I hate my best friends?

There's no possible way for us to know that. A more pertinent question would be if you don't want to hang out with them why do you keep muscling your way into plans they've already made without you? Seems if you don't want to hang out with them, their not including you is something of a service.

People do notice when you don't want to be around them. They probably picked up on your animosity and didn't want you around. For your actual question, people grow apart, it happens, you just need to find new friends

It happens as you get older man, as the guy above me said "people grow apart". People change, likes and dislikes change etc. Over the years i have - not sure how to put this- "gone through" several groups of friends. Most People i have hung out with in highschool and college i do not even speak to any more.

TLDR: Get some new friends, ones you DO enjoy hanging out with :p

Divergent interests? Could be what you like to do doesn't really jive with what they want to. You stated that you don't really hang out with anyone else but maybe you've met enough people and developed and matured more as an adult that you are no longer interested in their company.

As someone else already stated, I'm sure the three of them have picked up on(and talked about) your reticence to hang out with them anymore. If you are truly not interested in being friends with them anymore, then no one can blame you for changing as a person.
