Okay yeah this is a life story but it has a point

I've been beaten up my whole life (weather it be because I'm weird, because I'm poor, or because I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend)

but in 7th grade (weird/poor) things went too far

the Football team would always hold me down and take turns hitting me
or pelting me with tennis and baseballs

scares bruises and black eyes everywhere

the teachers said "they're just boys being boys"

then one day at the gym, we were doing the rope climb
you climb this really tall rope, ring the bell, then fall onto this really soft cooshy pad so you don't have to climb all the way back down (the pad itself was like 4-5 feet tall, and felt like a tempurpedic bed)

well I rang the bell and slid down the rope a little (because I didn't trust them for a reason) then about half way down the rope I let go and fell for the pad

the quarterback then proceeded to pull the pad out from under me and I hit the hard-wood floor with a loud thud

everyone laughed

I then lost my temper and garroted the quarterback with the rope (wrapped it around his neck and pulled tight) yelling that he would never do that again

then things became very serious; the teacher yelled at the class to "get him off of him" and well yeah you can see where things went

in the end, I got expelled for hurting the quarterback
and when I showed the bruises, crutches, and scars and told them how I got them they said "it's one thing to harm the student body, it's another thing to make up stories to justify it"

...the principal then tried to convince me to take up something to relieve my anger such as football, or baseball, or soccer...

goes to show what a jock he was as well

off note: I ended up taking archery in boyscouts and was the only one that could bullseye every time on the 20 yard target... I was told that I shouldn't take an anger outlet that would let me kill people from 60 feet away with a sharp stick

EDIT: Crap I forgot the question; why is it that the jocks can get away with ANYTHING but the second I defend myself after being badly injured (with 33 witnesses mind you) I get in major trouble?

EDIT 2: sorry actually I wasn't "expelled" I was just "suspended" for a quarter of the year

when I got back the jocks started beating me with bricks (apparently a drunk driver hit the wall next to the church or something)

and I just ran into the office as fast as I could and the second the principal heard my voice and the phrase "law suit"

well...
we had a talk

then I was suspended for my own safety

because he didn't want me to be in an environment where I could get hurt
(you know, because punishing the victim is TOTALLY what you're supposed to do... not punish the [4] offenders!)

EDIT 3: I'm not like this anymore and this has been taken care of (got half the kids there to stop attending and shut down one of the two schools they had... which were right across the street from each other haha)

Just throwing that out there

I'm not really a violent person (yes I am I just keep it in- and blame society)
so no one think I'm a freak or anything lol

just was wondering if anyone else has things like this happen and if this is running rampent

Probably because if they don't want to lose. If they actually got off their asses and tried to prevent bullying and all that their star players would end up suspended the majority of the time and jocks hate to lose. Thats just my guess anyway.

Because were bigger then you *JK*

We really don't have this problem at my school. The social hierarchy isn't as enforced, its still there but it isn't to the point where the sports guys dominate the other kids. I would say that the jocks didn't look like they had the intention of killing you, where the rope thing would look like a attempt at murder. Its not right that they get out scotch free, the school systems broke.

I've seen about half of it, it was funny (if I'm thinking of the right movie)

I prefer Hot Shots though

and nah I'm good... I'm not really strong so much as I'm smart
or in that case angry

Sounds to me like this gent is venting his frustration of knowing this is the best his life will ever get and the teacher can easily relate to him.

If I were you i'd match incident with incident, the problem with long term bullying is that any one incident can be played off as a prank or playful fun whereas what you did was the equivalent of all those incidents wrapped into one, hard to avoid the blame there.

Just remember that if you want revenge, be the better person, have the better life and never forget that the bully will most likely end up working at the school as a gym teacher "looking the other way" while little sports kids attack others, the circle of douche my friend, the circle of douche

I agree

if it's any consolation

it was private school
catholic school
and the whole 7th grade was 34(?) people only 4 were girls and one of them (the only person that was ever nice to me that year) moved away half way through the year

As far as I understand, schools that have winning teams get all sorts of monetary benefits. It would explain why jocks get special treatment like that which you described as well as the also well-known 'academic passes' where they don't need to sit through tests and whatnot.

I think it's a load of crap to give preferential treatment. Especially in the situation you described. A weaker person (psychologically) would have gone back shooting. I wasn't really bullied much but then there weren't many jocks at my school (which sucked in the sports department by the way and still does)

This sounds like a very american archetype. Guys pull that shit over here they get held accountable for their actions, educations more important than winning the season or whatever.

Found your problem. Catholic and private schools are for kids with either rich parents, parents who somehow think that they are better or kids who were expelled from public schools.

So ya the douchebag levels are quite high in those schools.

Go above the principles head, right away. Go to the superintendent if the principle won't listen. If the super won't listen, go to the local media and tell your story, have doctors notes and pictures to corroborate with you. They will eat this up and spit it out into something bigger and shit, you will probably make a difference.

You tried to handle it "inside the system" first, but they wouldn't listen so I'm tell you my story...

Edit: 5 replies before I finished? Damn...

Since it is a private school, just hit up the media then. The school expelled you, what are they going to do to you? When the media is on your side, YOU WIN. (usually)

It's a case of conviniance, more then anything. Unfortunatly, it's easier to move the one person who's suffering, i.e. you, then it is to move the 5 or so bullies. I know, because my school had the sence to tell me that. That, and the jocks were waiting for the teacher to look away, so that they couldn't get done for it, while you did it in a boutof anger and DIDN'T try to hide it, so from the teachers view, your garroting was a proven and seen incident, while the jocks pulling the mat back... We'll never know. Plus, the 33 witness? They probably like the jock more then you, Mr. self-admitidly strange. Welcome to the public school system.
My advice? Move classes, if you can. I had about the same problems, minus the violence (I did try and punch someone out when they threw me in the line of a fucking javilin, though. Goes to show what kind of morons you can get in Britian, but I guess the whole "Jock" thing hasn't got round here... Yet.) and eventaly, I just said "fuck it" and quit sports. Then, I went back... Only I did it with the girls now. Sounds like the stupidest solution ever, but it worked... Well, OK, some of the other boys came back later, but for some reason they seemed much nicer surrounded by about 20 girls.
Then again, Maybe your school is different, and has a unisex sports program or something. Just my personal experiance. Hope it helps. Trust me, though - as far as my experiance has gone, it get's a hell of a lot better in collage. You know, that place where you actualy have people who WANT to learn, and not be douchbags.

American society places a high value on the lives of athletes which means people will go out of their way to ignore any problems they create. That's why college students who rape others will get away with it if they are on the school football team. It's a BS system and it's taking incredibly long time for that to change since a good team means good school in the eyes of the general public. Video cameras are a wonderful tool to combat this, film them (with the help of a friend) using even just a cell phone or school security camera and then press legal charges, school may not do shit but a lawyer will, especially if you file for a restraining order.

I was there because I heard great things about the school and because I never delt well with people we thought the lower amount of people would be better for me

...however I feel I should add all the people that mentioned the school and referred to it as great were republicans... and the kind that voted for bush twice...

@OP

Well I assume that you live in America because if that was England, the right wing press would have demolished those bullies..

TBH, I have absolutely no idea what to say, I live in middle class, rural England, I've never had to deal with this so I can't really say much only..

When I'm in power these jerks and others shall be executed, I think people will soon learn to respect other people's rights as a human.. (I know thats hypocritical but tis the only way.. that I can think of..)

I like to think about that we are still like monkeys in the jungle. The strognest and most physical males displace their dominace with acts of violence and are rewarded for it, while the more intellectual mokeys are are not.

It really show how far we have developed as a species.
