Why do npcs need all the crap we give them?

honestly i spend 4 hours grinding wolves to get 20 teeth, and then hand them in for some money. Where does the npc get said money and why do they need/ do with the teeth?
My theory all npc's who ask for teeth are cheating the tooth fairy
Or they make overpriced necklaces to sell on the auction house to fund the gold sellers?

Why do i have to kill a million wolves to get 20 teeth. I mean im pretty sure i could kill 1 and get them all. I do believe a guild mate described this the best. 'The reason you dont get an eye from every mob and 2 from others, is because some mob beat up the one you kill so he could complete the quest aswell, and you happend to kill the one that took the eye from the one you where attacking before he'd finished.' To which my reply was '...the F**K?!?!'

Because people who make MMOs cant be bothered with small stuff like proper quests when making an MMO so they usually rely on grind quests to get you to endgame where all the work is put in. (Guild Wars did the exact opposite: no endgame)

A quest in WoW where I needed 1 item just 1 and it took half an hour for it to drop it was arglflargl. My theory is that when you fight the wolf you damage it's teeth/pelt/liver/kidney/penis and so the quest giver doesn't want it if it's damaged.

I'll probably get yelled at for this, but Runescape has some of the best quests ever. That may be all, but they do it so well it doesn't matter.

The devs test your patience and skills before they allow you to sit by the Binary Table along with them. It's all for some insane conspriacy they're conducting, that runs in every game, and will evntually be enacted upon you! Muahaha!

I guess it's just something to do. Game devs think "Golly, what great idea!" when it's suggested to stick the 100th collection quest in the game.

I dunno,maybe they are hording for Dark rituals?
Maybe the wolves have terrible dental plans so most of the teeth are practically hollow?
They could just be freaks with a lot of cash.

Umm cause in video games you do stuff like that... Unlike real life where you'd just take it's entire dental plan. MMO's are not real life.
