Why do people hate on multi-disc games?

I just purchased City of Villains (from Big Lots for $6) and apparently it's a 4-disc game. As lame as it may sound, I'm actually kind of excited to go home tonight and install it. I've never had a hatred from multi-disc games, but I guess I can see why some people do.

I guess some people dislike taking the time to do it. It's time-consuming to install if it has multiple install discs. It breaks immersion, etc...

Granted, I played Wing Commander 4...

I think it had 6 discs

Never saw a problem with it. I knew I was in for a longer experience when multiple disks were involved and it gave me a sense of accomplishment when I finally finished a disk.

I love them, providing you get them all in one box, and don't have to pay extra like the .HACK games. I love really long films, too. More value for money, in my opinion.
