I can understand people you don't care about and those who don't care about you lying about any old thing. But, what I don't understand is when you care a lot about someone and vice versa, and either you lie to them or they lie to you a lot. Why is it such a trait to not say what you mean?

Because it benefits us and hides our guilt for whatever we are lying about. And so we don't have to be accountable for what ever we know or did.

Is it weird that I imagined the title being said in a whiney little girl's voice? People lie, get the fuck over it.

Because it makes everything easier. Sorry, it's cold and harsh, but it's true.

Lying give me the opportunity to create truth where it doesn't already exist. This way I am creating not only an identity either your's or mine, but also molding the world around me.

That is why I lie. I do it often and I do it well.

No, it's not. That statement was, but that dosn't mean all of them are. Paradox un-paradox-ed
Seriously, I don't get why people fall for that one...

Well, if you lie to people you actually care about, then you'll do so in a(n often misguided) attempt to protect them and not hurt their feelings, or because it'll make things easier on yourself without causing them any harm.

Some lies are white lies of no consequence, and might well be ethical to tell (at least more ethical than a detailed account of the truth). If mommy died by a particularly aggressive and painful form of cancer, then telling kid that she died painlessly and went to Elysium is just fine.
