Why do the servers hate me?

I've been away from Left 4 Dead (2) for a while.
The sole reason for this is that I was unable to play it due to the servers!. The servers either disconnected me, had severe lag or wouldn't load at all.

I've started to miss the zombie bloodfest so I've recently tried to join 10 games on Left 4 Dead 2, using the online campaign and selecting Quick-Match and keeping note of what happened when I connected.

Out of the 10 games I played;
3 of them had Severe lag problems (only 1 of these weren't bad enough to render the match unplayable)
5 of them Disconnected me from the server (usually when my ping was in the green!)
2 were fine to play.

I have no idea what the problem is.
All the other games I play online (Mostly Team Fortress 2) don't seem to have connection issues and play perfectly when I connect to them.

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Have you tried changing what server type the lobby goes to?

Sometimes 'best available' is better than 'best dedicated'.

Maybe they were really bogged down with other players?
L4D2 is a pretty popular game.
But im not sure.

Ok. Weird.
I've been playing the first Left 4 Dead and that works fine. Atleast I can get some kind of zombie killing done.
Might try Re-installing Left 4 Dead 2.
