Don't forget they can't walk into a room unless invited.

They've got so many rules to serve different purposes with each different incarnation of vampires.

Twilight butchered vampires.
Unfortunately, Vampires were ruins before Twilight and as such the fags featured in that were only catching up to the emo kids who idolized none other than Anne Rice. She ruined vampires.. she ruined the whole horror-novel genre.

I think I have heard just about every thing there is to hear about vampire rules. They cant cross running water, a cross kills them, a cross makes them lose there powers, garlic kills them, garlic makes them human, a cross will burn them, a cross makes them fall asleep. My real question is why? Does the wolfman have so many rules? No, his only thing is that silver hurts him...I think. What about the mummy, I don't think he has any. Is it really necessary to put this many restrictions on such a cool idea?
don't forget stealing their sock makes them lose all their power and holy water burns them. plus in there large castles they have quite a number of drapes that can be twisted into any number of religious symbols.

mummies I believe move slowly so they don;t need a weakness. though I believe breaking the mummy's curse or returning the stolen artifact usually puts them down for the count.

werewolves are vulnerable to 2 things silver and fire. but they can't normally control their behavior once they have transformed so thats a negative.

one: about half those rules are misconceptions. the real rules:

running water (Because of the purity)(the water has to touch them. they can cross it all they want so long as not a drop touches them. water shorts out their powers.)

Cross weakens them. it in and of itself is not enough to end them.
not holy enough.

garlic does not really harm them. the only reason this came about is because their noses are like wolves; they are very sensitive.

sun represents new life, and the purity of the savior rising again.

Vampires are the ultimate creatures of the night. they are all powerful then. no need to wait on the moon for strength. they are intelligent and fast as well, unlike the mummy, which is just a tied up zombie. vamps can create more by injecting blood, and unlike a lycanthrope, the blood is supposed to kill you, then bring you back. 100% success rate. lycans have a 10% success rate. plus, lycans are not as strong as vamps, even at the full moon.

Am I the only one who prefers werewolves? Purely because they're so gritty and tough that you couldn't pull off that gay "sparkling" shit like in twilight. Twilight butchered vampires.
I rather have Alucard from Helsing anime.

Now he was a vampire.
