Why do we hate Justin Beiber?

Well that's true. The fact is though, that you don't know him, so why bother hating him. Why even waste the energy? I've got my hands full hating various douchebags I have deal with who actually affect my real life in a negative way, I don't have extra hatred allowance for some kid less than half my age who has a record out who I don't even know. Hatred is a valuable thing, it's a gift - you should save it for the targets that are truly worthy. Don't squander it on something that doesn't even affect you.Bernzz said:

I found it rather amusing that he refused to perform to a crowd in Sydney when it was apparently too large. I recall Pitt Street Mall being shut down when Backstreet Boys were here in 2000 (forgive me my sins - I was a teeny-bopper in my youth and BSB will always hold a special place with me). I also grew up listening to Aaron Carter, so I've had my fill of untalented little boys, thanks ever so much. I'll take my Bon Jovi, Goo Goo Dolls, Toto and Matchbox Twenty and go elsewhere.
Why I particularly hate the squeaky toy? He has needless fame. He's not particularly talented and I'm not even certain he writes his own music. Having a chorus that almost totally consists of the word 'baby' is not talent, it's stupid. His voice is aggravating and he's far too young. Bieber, go have your childhood - get some life experience and write about it. Come back to us when you can put it to music.

Music is subjective. I understand your points, but I still believe he isn't as talented as he is made out to be. His music is simple BUT as you've pointed out simple isnt always bad which is fair enough. But if a man shows me how he turned a rock into a digging tool, I would not be impressed. It does affect me, it stops me from spreading my music. I do dislike the fact that he got where he is today because he got lucky, though. So many other talented people out there, and this sixteen year old is offsetting all of them. Whenever music seems to be discussed here, he always seems to be the butt of some joke or some yardstick for bad music. While I'm certainly not rushing out to buy his albums, there are definately worse musicians, more deserving of hate than he is.
When you look at it, we're just a bunch of gaming nerds, sitting at our computers, hating on a fairly talented, fairly pleasant 16 year old kid, who was lucky enough to get famous.

Considering that he is 16 and going through his most hormonal period under near constant supervision, the one or two slip ups I've heard about are pretty negligable.

Personally, I see him as another part of the long line of "celebrities" who've gotten famous for doing very little. He's a mediocre dancer, his music has no substance, he doesn't really sing, and the amount of attention he's gotten from the media is disgusting. I mean, do we really need to see a film about this kid and read his memoirs already? He hasn't even been in the public eye for a year, and- optimistically- he still has plenty of life left to live before his biography is written.
I hate him because the film, television, music, and printing industries are all trying to cram him down our throats as much as possible before he loses appeal.

There's absolutely NO reason you should ACTIVELY hate on the young guy on a personal level. Make fun of his girly looks, sure. You can hate on his lack of talents/lyrics/attitude in videos. But leaving hate comments on Youtube for EVERY SINGLE MUSIC VIDEO EVER (that ruins my experience) and wishing he died?
