Why do we hate Justin Beiber?

Sorry if someone said thsi already, but it can't be overstated. He said, "I feel like the Kurt Cobain of my generation, but people just dont understand me." Thats almost be like Taylor Swift calling herself the Jimmy Page (The guitarist for Led Zepplin, in case you were wondering) of her generation.

I've heard that one too, and I'd believe it if there was an actual source, so far every site that's gone on about it have said this in one way or another "no original source for the quote can be found".

I don't hate this person.
I honestly find it confusing as to what makes this guy so special to hate on when people like him are a dime a dozen. He ain't the first and he sure as fuck won't be the last.
I also find it confusing as to why people don't just ignore him. Surely it can't be that hard?

He randomly got lucky making half-baked songs where he doesn't even have to sing in tune and has fans roaring after him. I'm a musician, and to see that kind of fame go to something like that makes you just a tad annoyed.

Imagine this: Suppose you're a painter, and you look in an art museum and see all of the great masters of art and all of their wonderful paintings, and along comes a boy still in school who draws stick figures. All of a sudden, everybody loves him and his stick figure pictures and nobody cares about the Mona Lisa.

That's why we hate Justin Bieber.

I don't hate Justin Bieber.

Then again, I don't KNOW Justin Bieber. I've never listened to any of his songs, so I honestly can't comment on them.

However, from what I do know, I have to give him two gold stars:

1. If I understand correctly, he worked his ASS off to get where he is today, which is commendable.

2. He's not afraid to make fun of himself (like during that hilarious Superbowl ad with Ozzy).

So, I can't really fault the guy.

I suppose I'm not in anyway comparable to Leonardo Da Vinci, but I know some who are, and they're barely getting any recognition at all from the music industry, and instead this kid is.

The thing I find ridiculous is that all the people who get really stuck into hating him are actually essentially the same as his most rabid fans. Their take on the situation is just negative instead of positive. Seriously, who cares? Just let the guy sing, people who like him will like him, people who don't should have other things that they prefer, which I believe they should spend their time liking, as opposed to wasting energy hating a teen pop star...

EDIT: To clarify my personal opinion...I don't have one. I've hardly heard anything this guy has done, and although I think his stylist should be taken aside for a quick word about that godawful hairstyle they've saddled the poor boy with, other than that I have no opinion of him. Why should I? He's not even designed to appeal to my age group.

You and I have very different definitions of "witty". When I see comment after stupid comment about the guy, I tend to just be put off of watching the video.

More on topic, I hate his music because it doesn't appeal to any of my tastes. That's about it.

Of course we love making fun of celebrities for no other reason other than the fact that they are celebrities, but this guy gets more hate than the Fuhrer. Clearly he's an untalented hack right, I bet he never even practiced from a young age or anything like that.

Also, I have an issue with anybody claiming that being a very skilled dancer is somehow less valid then being an opera singer or a metal band. Dance is a physical art but it's still an art and his excellence in that area alone is enough for me to believe he deserves success as an entertainer.

I'm just gonna say my piece and be done with it. I don't really care for Justin Bieber. I don't care for his music, I don't care for his girlfriend, his fans and all that bullshit. Personally I made a choice long ago to pretty much ignore this kid as raging over him really isn't work the effort.

Everyone says his music sucks, he's annoying, he's part of what's wrong with today's music, he's only popular because of the scores of prepubescent girls that wank off to him at night. But then again we said the same thing about the Jonas Brothers and Justin Timberlake and Backstreet Boys and N'sync and the like.

People, this kid ain't nothin' new-he's a hack like all of his predecesors, so please, let's stop wasting our energy raging against this kid and rage over more important issues, like Libya, Japan or the Teacher Strikes here in the US.
