Why do you like the escapist?

I like the open-mindedness, the lack of trolls and the strictness of the moderation. I'm usually too afraid to post in forums because I think I'll be ridiculed to death by memes and whatnot.

I come here primarily for the content. But the forums here are some of the best I've seen on the internet. Everyone's really nice and there's no trolls!

I came for extra credits. Stay now for unskippable and zero punctuation. Strangely i don't look forward to extra credits as i used too. Still like it but not as much as i used to.

I only come for the videos really. I dont really like the forums as the mods are too strict and my opinions always seem to be the opposite of most.

I came for ZeroPunctuation, but I went through a stage last year that I was a little tired of it and I probably wouldn't have stayed...

...but by that stage I was here for Escape to the Movies...

...and then came Extra Credits...

...and now Miracle of Sound is so damn good that I'd stay just to see his stuff.

Those four are the main reasons I like Escapist. The articles are often interesting, and I really like Shamus Young's stuff (though it's been a little irregular of late), and I've enjoyed Unskippable, Daily Drop and a few others as well.

But the core reason is ZP, EttM, EC and MoS.

Most of the topics on here really interest me, the people are (mostly) nice, and some of the shows on he Escapist are brilliant to watch, and funny.

I came for Zero Punctuation, and stayed because this website is actually filled with intelligent and rational people. Not to mention this place also helped keep me up to date with the California Video game law that was recently shot down.

I used to never even touch the community section till lately. I came for Zero Punctuation, Unforgotten Realms, etc. I do love LoadingReadyRun though, and the forums are always useful. =]

Zero Punctuation, then Extra Credits, then Moviebob stuff, and especially the forums. Although I do get the occasional PC gamer preaching to me about how the mouse and keyboard is jesus and me sticking with my gamepad is settling for less, but other than that this community rules.

I was watching ZP close to the beginning. Other than that, I like the message boards a lot, they're a lot busier than the ones I usually frequent and as much as some people here complain about the mods, it's about as free here as it gets without being one of those boards with one mod that bans people he has a spat with.

What brought you here and what keeps you coming back?

I started coming cause of zero punctuation (shocking I know) and stayed for extra credit. Also the community for the most part is why I stick around.

I am exactly the same. Saw a ZP episode and was hooked, then found EC.

Agreed. I would like to note that I came here because of ZP, but joined because of my friend saying it had a good community.
