I have serious anger issues that I need to work out in a harmless medium. Seriously, had a bad night at work last night, I'm going to play me some Arkham Asylum in a bit.
Entertainment, boredom, wasting time (I seem to be pretty adept at this).
It's certainly a more enjoyable medium than television for me. Instead of being a passive observer you are actually directly interacting in a game world. Pretty cool stuff.
I play games when I'm bored.
I play games because I am passionate about the medium.
I play games that my friends play because I want to play with them.
I collect and play games because its a fun hobby and I like to witness the progression in the history.
I play games because they make me happy and curb my depression from time to time.
I play games because its fun.
I started gaming when I was about 7 and I guess I started cos I hated all sports and had few friends and it was so much more entertaining than toys, even Star Wars toys (yeah I said it). It became a passion and even an addiction. 13 years later I still play them every day and love them to pieces, they're my favourite pastime
I'd say for fun, but lately I've caught myself mainly playing games to extract all the good ideas/scenery/art out of it, store it in my head, and use it as an inspiration later on. For when art school starts, I mean.
