Very simple question, no detailed explanations or anything. Why do you play games?

Also, I'm willing to bet I'm the only person that will say "play to win" on this forum.

I play games because I love to be interactive with the story. But they need to be well formated games. Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, Legend of Zelda; games that have a full story and a great way of telling it.

you are never the only one.

garunteed.

ot: depends on the game really, any kind of rpg or adventure, i better enjoy the hell out of the story and characters and actually have a drive and reason to finish the game (which its not that hard to impress or immerse me..as long as you dont have fallout 3 bad type story and characters then ill be good to go)

for shooters, it better be just in general fun, and not twitch/one two shot based, now thats a story for another time but games like conkers bad fur day, socom, and halo all have massive appeal to me as gunfights lasted more then .025 seconds on the twitch of a wrist.

racing games, better involve some kind of shootings or map changing/flipping/boosting/drifting experiences, otherwise it gets too boring and patterned (gran turismo and all you other way too realistic driving games) i like to blow shit up and have damaged cars and if a bomb lands by me i want to be doing a triple roll flip across the finish line!

other games..dont really play too much of. so game to game basis there.

but for the most part, just fun, im not really that competitive, so mostly just for a fun/lasting experience from the game.

I play video games because I enjoy them, and they're a nice way to escape the troubles of the real world. They're also a healthy alternative to drugs.

Mostly for escapism. It's the same reason I read books. For just a little while, I'm in a world that doesn't suck quite as much as the real one.
