Why does Afrojack sound like Prodigy?

I know that these "(insert mainstream artist)totally ripped off (insert smaller artist)!" can get tedious, but this really annoyed me to the point where I had to point it out.

Dear god, it even sounds like the same synth! I'm not calling anyone a hack or anything (that's the rest of YouTube's job), but I can't be the only one who noticed the similarity.

Am I crazy, Escapists? Because I'm feeling very hipster-ish mentioning this.

Well, the amusing part to me is that I've heard of Prodigy and I haven't heard of Afrojack.

I don't know much about electronic music, but to me it really sounds like that synth is the only similarity the two songs have. And Afrojack only use it at the part you linked to and the last 30 seconds of the song.

So my opinion is that you're overreacting a little bit.

But hey. I can play along. Why does Sum 41 sounds like Coldplay?
