Why does enabling ICS disconnect me from the internet?

Hey, I am in need ofa little advice, guys. So, I have been trying to enable ICS (internet connection sharing) on my laptop so I can connect to XBOX live. But every time I Try to connect, I get past the first phase of the connection test but not the second. An error message always comes up saying "Your DNS servers cannot be connectes". Also, whenever I make a network bridge or enable ICS my laptop refuses to connect to the internet, but the connection says it is fine. I need your help on this one guys!

Did you try to reboot the modem after setting everything up?
I know my PS3 acts like dumb (doesn't reconize the modem) if I remove the cable from my PC and connects to him so I'm forced to reboot the modem. So maybe whatever you're trying to do will auto fix itself after that.

If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I'm out of ideias.
