Why does everybody here love TF2?

It's the first online FPS I ever played, and enjoyed it a lot. Of course the various classes designs and flavor, all the free stuff that get added, even if it almost always come with raging players deeming the game, "Worst game ever since *class* update". All the side work that goes into this game is considerable. They doe tend to release major updates around exams time, meaning one should be imminent now.

And going winning against heavies as a medic, or hearing the spy say "May I borrow your ear piece? *High pitch voice* This is scout! rainbows makes me cry!" seems to bring a certain amount of satisfaction.

I assume you never played TFC then?

I have. But I wouldn't play it again.

Call me a graphics whore, but the bright cheery art style just adds to the fun.

Alas...I am the only person in the world who doesn't love that game or the orange box...

I wasn't fond of the half life games, I loved portal (as do alot of people) and I never tried TF2 but now I kind of want to.

Just seems a little different, funny and not taking itself to seriously.

It is in fact, it's pretty much the plain question. But I believe there are bots being implemented slowly (only one game mode for now), so that might change in the future

Lets hope so. Surely they could do it if they managed to for CS?

Who the hell still plays with bots? I mean, if you're going to play an FPS at all, you might as well shoot some other people in the head. What else would attract you to the genre, the story-lines? ROFL.

Well, last time I checked, TF2 didn't HAVE a storyline. As for the genre, I like going around shooting people. If there are no people to shoot, kind of takes away the whole point of the game. Also, bots help for many things like A) Practices, B) Offline play for say, if your internet connection cuts out or something or C) The game is fun, but the people who play it aren't.

Also, I do love a good storyline in any game, so yeah, that could be a reason I might play it. If I just want to run around and around I would play Quake or Doom or.. for eg, TF2.

No, Bots are also working on TC HYDRO as well.

I run a TF2 community and I've found the craziest people playing but also they are my online family. I met my boyfriend because of the game. Been playing since it came out and it never gets old. Plus who could say no to free updates for the pc version.
