Why does everyone ate comic sans?

I've recently seen a lot of hate for comic sans, EVERYWHERE ON THE INTERNET
is there a reason for it beside internet random humor or something? I've searched for it but all I find is more posts about how it sucks and should be banned

It's a founding font that, for the most part, would look ugly on a resume. Plus it's been used in comics for over...oh...70-80 years.

on topic: I personally think comic sans is an amazingly useful font in the right location. what annoys people is when someone uses it in the wrong location.

It's because it's overused and most often in the most inappropriate of places. Usually by people who have absolutely no concept of design aesthetic. I personally don't mind it myself, but rarely ever use it.

It's a little known fact that the creator of Comic Sans committed suicide after discovering he accidentally created the greatest font in existence. After increased exposure to it, he became jaded and pessimistic, knowing that no human being could ever hope to top his magnificent creation.

His suicide note was also written in Comic Sans.

Because it's unprofessional and doesn't make any document worth reading. It's not a good font for prose, and it's not a very good font for headlines. Which leaves... nothing.

Currently, crisp, angular sans-serif fonts are in style. Think Futura, Verdana, that sort of thing.
